Yoga For All Movement

Yoga For All Movement Making the practice of yoga accessible to all in Santa Cruz County. Our intention is to bridge the gap between all facets of the Santa Cruz community.

Yoga for All Movement is a collective of yoga teachers providing the practices of asana and meditation to underserved populations in Santa Cruz county. The mission of the movement is to make yoga accessible to all including those who are currently incarcerated, in recovery from substance use disorders, survivors of domestic violence and youth. Through trauma informed instruction, we aim to reduce

recidivism and reverse the effects of institutionalization by aiding in the process of mitigating symptoms of direct and vicarious trauma. For anyone who has been affected by institutionalization in some way, learning the importance of the connection of mind, body, and breath can aid in the reentry process and help survivors of that trauma to THRIVE.

The organized the 56th annual Juvenile Court, Community and Alternative School Administrators of California (JCCASAC) Conference up in San Francisco this week, and we were so honored to be a part of it. Thank you for the opportunity to not only attend and network with leaders in education, but also to lead 4 sessions:

🧘🏽‍♀️ Restorative Yoga for Restorative Justice with YFAM teacher (wellness session x2)
🎨 Cultivating Creativity in Alternative Classrooms with future YFAM teacher (who recently offered our teachers a similar workshop to support their resilience)

We’re taking so much away from the inspiring event. Deep gratitude 🙏

Happy May! Here’s a look at who will be teaching our Saturday community class this month 🦋

GENTLE YOGA ~ every Monday, Friday & Saturday 10 to 11am

Step into a gentle, welcoming environment where your pace, your breath, and your story are honored. Our trauma-informed yoga class is designed to support healing, empowerment, and self-regulation through mindful movement and breathwork.

This class emphasizes safety, choice, and non-judgment, inviting you to reconnect with your body in a compassionate and empowering way. Movements are simple, grounding, and adaptable; modifications and options are offered without pressure or expectation. There’s no need for prior yoga experience—just a willingness to show up as you are.

Led by an experienced Yoga For All Movement instructor trained in trauma-sensitive practices, this class avoids triggering language, hands-on adjustments, or any pressure to perform. Instead, you’ll find a space to explore stillness, reconnect with your body, and cultivate presence at your own comfort level.

Mats and other props are provided. All are welcome!

We’re excited to announce our next monthly workshop! Join us Saturday, May 23rd at (right after our community yoga class!) for an inspiring conversation with .clements_, founder of :

🌱 Watering the Roots: Relational Mindfulness & Emotional Understanding 🌱
📍 301 Center St. Santa Cruz
🗓️ Saturday, 5/23 ~ 11:15 to 12:45*
*YFAM teachers and those interested in getting involved are invited to stay after for monthly check-in / orientation.
💌 RSVP at the link in our bio.

Watering the Roots is a mindfulness-based workshop focused on emotional awareness, relational patterns, and the process of rupture and repair. Through trauma-informed, somatic practices, participants will explore how overwhelm and reactivity show up in the body, and how to meet those experiences with greater awareness and care. The focus is on building a more grounded, compassionate relationship with ourselves and others — in ways that are practical and applicable to everyday life.
