As we get ready for Red Ribbon Week, October 26–30, let’s remember the meaning behind the red ribbon and the powerful message it represents.
Red Ribbon Week began as a tribute to DEA Agent Enrique “Kiki” Camarena, whose courage and sacrifice inspired a nationwide movement to promote drug prevention and healthy, drug-free lives. Today, his legacy reminds us why this work continues to matter.
❤️ Red Ribbon Week is about more than wearing red. It’s about educating our children, encouraging healthy choices, supporting families, and bringing our communities together to prevent substance use. It’s a reminder that prevention starts long before a problem begins and that the conversations we have with our children today can make a difference in their futures.
