What an incredible season for PCYBL! 🏀

Despite battling weather cancellations, last-minute schedule changes, and all the curveballs life threw our way, this was truly a great one—filled with growth, hustle, fun, and so many smiles on those young faces.

None of this happens without the amazing people who step up year after year. A huge, heartfelt THANK YOU to our School Representatives: Jeremy Baker, Shawn Boyle, Jordan Cowan, Shea Cheuvront, Stephen DeBord, and Emily Wilson. Your dedication and support make everything possible—without you, there simply is no PCYBL. This league is 100% volunteer-run, and you all make the magic happen. Thank you for pouring your time, energy, and hearts into these young players.

A special shoutout to Benny Blanton for tirelessly working the schedule at Pulaski County High School so we could use those facilities, and to Mark Morgan for doing the same at Northern Middle School. Your behind-the-scenes efforts mean the world to our kids and families.

This season was the first one in years that we were able to work out South Pulaski Youth Basketball League (SPYBL) playing with us and that should be celebrated as well! Thank you to everyone who made that possible as it only made the season that much more successful!

Here’s to another season in the books, and to the memories that will last a lifetime. Can’t wait for next year! 🏀

🏆 4th/5th Grade Gold Bracket Championship 🏆

What a way to finish the tournament!

The Northern Maroons and Oak Hill White battled it out in a hard-fought championship game that showcased everything youth basketball should be — effort, teamwork, and heart.

Northern came away with a 44–29 win, but the score doesn’t fully reflect how competitive and physical this game was from start to finish. Both teams left it all on the floor.

🏀🔥 2nd/3rd Grade Silver Bracket Championship Recap! 🔥🏀

What a competitive championship game to close out the Silver Bracket!

Pulaski Blue battled from start to finish and kept it close the entire way. Every possession mattered, and the energy in the gym reflected it. In the final minute, however, Oak Hill 2 made a couple of key plays, knocked down big shots, and pulled away to secure the win 33–25. 🏆

🏀🔥 4th/5th Grade Silver Bracket – Championship Recap! 🔥🏀

What a great finish to the Silver Bracket Tournament!

In the Championship Game, Pulaski Blue put together a strong performance to defeat Burnside 40–33 and claim the 4th/5th Grade Silver Bracket Title 🏆

Burnside battled the entire way and kept the pressure on, but Pulaski Blue executed down the stretch to secure the win. Both teams competed with toughness, heart, and great sportsmanship.

If you weren’t in the gym, you missed an incredible night of basketball across our 4th/5th Brackets!

🥈 4/5 Silver Bracket – Instant Classic
Pulaski Blue and Shopville went toe-to-toe in a tight battle that had fans on the edge of their seats. Back-and-forth all night with neither team giving an inch — exactly what tournament basketball is all about.

And then…

🚨 OVERTIME THRILLER 🚨
Burnside and Somerset Gold delivered a game that will be talked about for a long time. After a hard-fought regulation battle, it took EXTRA TIME to decide it. Huge plays, big stops, and clutch moments in OT to punch a ticket forward.

🥇 4/5 Gold Bracket – Buzzer Be**er Drama
In one of the most electric moments of the tournament so far, Northern knocked down a game-winning three at the buzzer to edge Pulaski White. An incredible finish to an intense matchup — pure March Madness energy in February!

This is why we love tournament week.
The passion. The effort. The heart. The moments these kids will remember forever.

🏀🔥 2nd/3rd Grade Gold Bracket – What a Night of Basketball! 🔥🏀

Tournament Championship Night absolutely delivered!

We started the evening with an instant classic between Northern and Oak Hill 3. It was tight from start to finish — big shots, great defensive stops, and nonstop hustle on both ends. Oak Hill 3 was able to pull it out late and advance to the Championship, but Northern battled every possession. That’s tournament basketball at its best! 👏

Shopville also gave Somerset everything they could handle. It was a competitive game deep into the second half before Somerset was able to pull away late. Credit to Shopville for making the top seed earn it!

In the Championship, Somerset capped off a strong tournament run to claim the 2/3 Gold Bracket Championship 🏆 — Hats off to Oak Hill 3 for an amazing season and tournament run to claim the 2/3 Gold Runners Up!

This week, one of our Eubank Bulldog basketball families experienced a heartbreaking loss when their home was destroyed in a house fire.

We are incredibly thankful that everyone is safe, but they are now facing the difficult task of rebuilding and replacing the things most of us take for granted.

In moments like this, our community always comes together to help and we expect this time will be no different.

🏀🔥 TOURNAMENT ACTION CONTINUES TOMORROW NIGHT! 🔥🏀

Championship week rolls on as both our 2nd/3rd and 4th/5th Divisions return to the court tomorrow night for the next round of tournament play!

We’ve had an exciting start to the brackets, and the competition only gets better from here. Teams are battling for a spot in the championship games — you won’t want to miss it!

⚠️ IMPORTANT REMINDER:
Please pay close attention to game times and locations. A few adjustments have been made, so double-check the updated schedule before heading to the gym.

Attention 2nd/3rd Coaches; with tournament time starting shortly for you we would invite you to read the rules of Man to Man D.

We have watched teams try to take advantage of the rules and play a modified zone which we absolutely discourage. On the flip side, when we crack down on that we have teams running isolation plays (specifically addressed as well) to take advantage of us cracking down on the zone D. We ask that all coaches and players please make an effort to play by the rules and understand the spirit of the rule. If you have a player playing “Help” Defense who has no idea where the player he is defending is, he’s playing zone. Likewise, if you send your players to the opposite side of the court and expect the defense to follow by rule you are just as guilty of bending the rules to win rather than teach. Let’s continue to work toward player development and not just scheming for wins.

Note: PCYBL and SPYBL are playing under the exact same rules this year.
