Casa is a nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering the education and character development of underserved children and their families in coastal North County San Diego. Since we began in 1997, Casa de Amistad's academic mentoring program has grown from serving just 3 children on its first night to over 175 children and their parents annually. Currently, 175 students come from Solana Beach Sch
ool District, Del Mar Union School District, Encinitas Union School District, Cardiff School District, Carlsbad Unified School District and San Dieguito Union High School District. In the past 15 years, teachers in our area schools have noticed an increase in homework completion and classroom participation, as well as improved grades and higher test scores among Casa's students. Many of Casa de Amistad 12th grade students have applied to and have been accepted at a number of California’s top universities. Since Casa began, the number of participating students going on to college continues to rise.
