Global Climate Pledge is proud to be part of the Story Movement for Sustainability 2025 – a global initiative led by D Leader, and the U.S. Green Chamber of Commerce, together with the Global Sustainability Expedition, Global Green Chamber, Global Ambassadors of Sustainability, AIM IT Institute, and Triangulum.

Our upcoming session,
“Story Movement for Sustainability: Weaving Human Rights Transformation” is a live storytelling café where leaders share real stories from supply chains, factories and communities, as well as how centering human dignity transforms sustainability work.

Rewilding: Bringing Nature Back to Life 🦬

Rewilding is the process of restoring ecosystems to their natural state and sometimes, it starts with bringing back the animals that once shaped the land.
Bison, once nearly wiped out, are ecosystem engineers. As they roam, graze, and wallow, they create habitats for birds, fertilize soils, and keep grasslands healthy. Their return can revive entire landscapes, boost biodiversity, and even help capture carbon to fight climate change.

When we rewild, we don’t just save species we heal the planet.

What’s a Keystone Species? 🦅
A keystone species is a plant or animal that has a disproportionately large impact on its ecosystem, meaning if it disappears, the whole system can collapse.
From sea otters keeping kelp forests healthy, to wolves balancing prey populations, to bees pollinating our crops. These species help maintain biodiversity and ecosystem stability.

Protecting keystone species means protecting the web of life that sustains us all.

From flood-ravaged communities to war-torn regions, Dr. Osama Ali Maher has spent nearly 20 years on the frontlines — delivering public health support, leading emergency response, and shaping policies that protect the most vulnerable.
As Associate Research Professor at UNU-INWEH, he brings that same urgency and compassion to tackling the health and environmental challenges of our time.
On 21 August 2025, Dr. Maher will join the 24th International Talk on Green Business, Sustainability, and Climate Action to share how disaster response, climate resilience, and sustainable development must work hand in hand to create real change.

What’s a Biome?
Biomes are Earth’s major life zones , going from vast areas defined by their climate, plants, animals, and landscapes. From tropical rainforests to deserts, grasslands to tundras, each biome plays a vital role in keeping our planet in balance.
They regulate our climate, produce oxygen, store carbon, and provide food and resources for millions of species including us.
