Parkinson's Wellness Place - Rock Steady Boxing PNW

Parkinson's Wellness Place - Rock Steady Boxing PNW Snohomish County's first Rock Steady Boxing Program. Non-contact boxing for people with Parkinson's. All classes will be held at the Snohomish Fitness Center.

We are starting a non-contact boxing program for people with Parkinsons, it is called Rock Steady Boxing. There are over 300 gyms that offer Rock Steady Boxing around the world but we are the first in Snohomish County. This program was created and is adaptable for people with various stages of Parkinsons and of all fitness abilities. We will be having classes Tue and Thurs from 12:30-2pm starting

June 1st. We are hoping to add in a Saturday morning class and evening classes during this calendar year. We are enrolling people for the first day assessment now. We have two certified RSB trainers and we will be co teaching the classes at the beginning and we are hoping to have a small handful of volunteers as well to help us create an awesome and safe workout environment.

June 1st marked our 9th anniversary of fighting back against Parkinson's!

Yesterday we gathered with our athletes and loved ones to celebrate with a line dancing lesson, a special performance by our choir, The PWP Croakers, and ice cream provided by our friends Right at Home Snohomish County.

Here's to many more years!

Volunteers Needed!

Looking for a meaningful way to make a difference in your community? Parkinson's Wellness Place is seeking volunteers to assist in our exercise classes.

No experience is necessary—we'll provide all the training and support you need. Volunteers help encourage participants, assist with exercises, and create a welcoming, positive environment for our athletes.

Our greatest need is:
Mondays & Wednesdays, 12:15–1:15 PM

Can't make those times? We have additional volunteer opportunities available throughout the week and would love to find a schedule that works for you. Your time can have a lasting impact on the lives of people living with Parkinson's.

After years of punches, kicks, laughs, and hard work… Bruno is officially ready for retirement. His head is literally falling off, and while he’s been a loyal training partner, it’s time for a replacement.

Items like training equipment may seem simple, but they play a huge role in helping our athletes stay active, strong, and empowered at Parkinson's Wellness Place.

If you’d like to help keep our classes going strong, consider purchasing an item from our wishlist. Every donation — from equipment to everyday supplies — helps us continue providing life-changing programs for people living with Parkinson’s.

Bruno gave it his all. Help us bring in the next champ.

We’re excited to share that on March 16, we officially took over the Rock Steady Boxing program at Cappy's Boxing Gym in Seattle.

This incredible program has been serving the Parkinson’s community for the past three years, and we’re honored to carry that work forward. With four classes offered each week, we’re committed to supporting athletes as they build strength, confidence, and connection.

As we expand our reach and continue growing this program, we invite you to be part of the impact. Your support helps ensure these life-changing classes remain accessible to everyone who needs them.

Make a donation today and help us keep our athletes fighting back.

Congratulations to our newest Golden Glove Athlete, Dana! 🥊✨

At Parkinson’s Wellness Place, athletes earn their Golden Gloves on their 5-year anniversary—a milestone that represents dedication, resilience, and showing up again and again.

He didn’t know it then… 💙

Back when life was all naps, snacks, and tiny sneakers, he had no idea that movement would one day become his medicine.

Now he knows: exercise isn’t optional when living with Parkinson’s—it’s essential. In fact, it’s the only scientifically proven way to slow the progression of Parkinson’s disease. Regular movement helps maintain strength, balance, and flexibility—and even supports the invisible battles like depression and constipation.

Research from the Parkinson’s Outcomes Project shows that people who begin exercising early—and stick with at least 2.5 hours a week—experience a slower decline in quality of life.

Same kid. Different game plan.
Move early. Move often. Keep going. 💪
