TB Photovoice These photographs and their accompanying narratives give a face and voice to TB.

TB Photovoice works with communities impacted by Tuberculosis using a community oriented approach called Photovoice, whereby the persons impacted by TB use a camera to document their every day life and health experiences. The photographs represent what is happening in the participants’ lives and serve as a point for discussion about what can be done to inspire change in their communities. They sha

re and examine their photos and stories among a small, trusted group, then amplified their messages to the community and beyond through forums and health events. Often these photos and stories address the root causes of TB as well as the stigma, discrimination and need for improved prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of TB.

Today marks the 166th anniversary of the death of Charlotte Brontë, the beloved author of "Jane Eyre."

Brontë was one of the most talented representatives of English romanticism and realism. With her extremely emotional and impressionable temperament, she possessed to a high degree what Goethe called the secret of genius - the ability to capture the individuality and subjective mood of a second person.

Brontë died on March 31, 1855, at the young age of 38, from complications of tuberculosis. Her death was a great loss to the literary world, but her legacy lives on through her timeless novels and her impact on the feminist movement. Let us remember her today and honor her contribution to literature.

Сегодня исполняется 166 лет со дня смерти Шарлотты Бронте, автора всеми любимого романа "Джейн Эйр".

Бронте была одной из талантливейших представительниц английского романтизма и реализма. Обладая крайне нервным и впечатлительным темпераментом, она в высокой степени владела тем, что Гёте называл секретом гения – способностью проникнуться индивидуальностью и субъективным настроением постороннего лица.

Бронте умерла 31 марта 1855 года в возрасте 38 лет от осложнений туберкулеза. Ее смерть стала большой потерей для литературного мира, но ее наследие продолжает жить благодаря ее нестареющим романам и ее влиянию на феминистское движение.

World TB is truly every day. We would like to celebrate the work of CITAM+ based in Lusaka, Zambia. They created an amazing TB photovoice project in Ndola, Zambia that resulted in TB survivors raising their voices to educate others about the TB experience. In doing so, the Ministry of Health and community members opened their hearts and minds to ending TB. We will be sharing more photos and stories in the coming days! But here are a few!
