The "Building Wildfire Resilience" scheduled for this Saturday, 6/27/2026 from 1pm to 3pm, at the Snohomish Senior Center will now be a free event. We feel this information is important and we want to bring it to as many people as possible. Even though we live on the west side of the state and wildfires are not as prevalent as the east side we have been getting hotter summers lately and the 4th is just around the corner. We hope you will take advantage of this opportunity to educate yourself on building fire resilience around your home.

have you noticed how dry our summers have become. This last winters snow pack was nearly non existent making our water supply a concern. People will be watering less and landscapes around homes will become parched and dry. With that in mind Pilchuck Fuchsia Society will be hosting an event at the Snohomish Senior center June 27th from 1pm to 3pm geared to fire proofing your landscape. Featured speaker Kirk Troberg from WA Dept of Natural Resources will speak on building wildfire resilience in your landscape. Snohomish fire department will also be there to speak and answer questions. Space is limited so please scan the QR code in the pictured flyer to secure your seat. Each seat is $10 at the door and includes a beautiful color catalog of plants to include on your landscape.
