Troop 208 History
Troop 208 of Sioux City is currently under the Chartered Organization of Faith United Presbyterian Church. Previously Morningside Presbyterian Clipper Club. For over 75 years, many great young men have passed through its doors and now as of February 2019, we have invited young ladies to join our troop and begin the journey of scouting!
We are proud of our relationship to our younger Cub Scout Pack 208 and grateful for all the help and influence they pass on to our younger scouts as they progress through Cubscouts. Each February, the birthday month of scouting, we celebrate a Cross Over Ceremony to recognize this achievement.
Not all new Scouts need to be Cub scouts before becoming part of a Troop. We welcome new youth anytime! While various activities and youth groups teach basic skills and promote teamwork, Scouting goes beyond that and encourages youth to achieve a deeper appreciation for service to others in their community. Scouting provides youth with a sense that they are important as individuals. *www.scouting.org
