It’s Pizza Time!

The EHS Band program has one more Pizza Ranch Dine-and-Donate Night for the school year!

Please join us Monday, April 27th, from 5-8pm at the Sergeant Bluff Pizza Ranch and support the East High Band.

Proceeds from this event will fund our ‘26-27 projects, including but not limited to:

New Music
New Instruments
Instrument Supplies (reeds, valve oil, drum sticks, etc.)
Marching Band
Jazz Band
Colorguard/Winter Guard
Winter Drumline
All State Band
NWIBA Honor Band
And many more…

On Saturday, April 18th, the East High Band left at 6am to travel to Council Bluffs, IA for IHSMA Solos and Ensembles contest with 20 entries for the day.

By the evening, the Band brought home the following results:

III (Good) - 1
II (Excellent) - 3
I (Superior) - 15

In addition to the ratings we received, we also achieved a Best of Center (BoC) in Center 6 with a percussion solo from Simon Nelson!

Black Raider Jazz I had a fantastic performance to end the Jazz season at Iowa Jazz Championships in Ames, IA today!

These students put in a lot of hard work over the season with all of the early morning rehearsals, performances, and competitions. It is this level of commitment that allows these musicians to succeed and sets the standard for the future.

Congrats on a fantastic season! Brava tutti!

It’s Jazz Night!

If you’ve got some free time and want to listen to some rocking jazz charts, come on down to the East High School Auditorium for a swinging concert!

This concert is free and open to the public, and begins at 6:30pm. Tonight’s performances will feature both High School Jazz Ensembles and the EMS 8th Grade Jazz Ensemble.

The drumline had a fantastic time cheering on and performing for the Sioux City Musketeers tonight! Senior members Simon and Emily even got to duke it out in one of the intermission games. Big thank you to for having us out tonight!!

The Black Raider Jazz Band is headed to Iowa Jazz Championships on April 7th, and we need your help to get there.

Swing by the Sergeant Bluff Pizza Ranch next Monday, Feb. 23rd, from 5-8pm and enjoy some pizza, chicken, and help us get to IJC!

Big Update!

The Black Raider Jazz 1 placed 1st at The NWIBA District Jazz Competition last night in Le Mars, IA and earned an automatic bid to Iowa Jazz Championships in April!

To help pay for this, we have two fundrasiers going on or coming up.

First, next week Monday, Feb. 23rd, we have another Pizza Ranch Night. Swing by the Sergeant Bluff Pizza Ranch from 5-8pm next Monday to support the Jazz Band!
