Who says teenagers can't get up early during the summer? Young leader and Girls Inc. alum, Ms. Maggie, recently brought her mom along to join Executive Director Mandy Engel-Cartie for a 7:00 AM presentation to the South Sioux City Optimist Club and absolutely wowed them. Maggie is a great example of how Girls Inc. girls grow up to inspire others to be strong, smart, and bold. Watch out world, here she comes!

What’s better than a good book? Reading it to a furry friend! Special guest Jack, a therapy dog in training, stopped by the Girls Inc. library today to practice being a good audience. It was a fun, confidence-building chance to strengthen reading skills with a very patient and attentive listener.
A huge thank you to Ms. Ann, our amazing literacy specialist, who hand-picked stories she knew Jack and the girls would love. She’ll be providing support all summer to girls who need a little extra help becoming strong, joyful readers.
