We believe personal power comes from ownership of that impact and developing a desire to purposely decide the kind of impact we create for others and ourselves. All It Takes is Communication: We believe engaging in authentic co

mmunication develops courage, self care and care of others, while cultivating heart-centered listening and compassionate sharing. All It Takes is Confidence: Recognition of individual value and purpose develops as confidence increases through personal insight and appreciation, both given and received. We believe greater confidence leads to compassionate, purposeful, and meaningful action that serves self and others positively. All It Takes is Teamwork: We believe powerful gains, both individually and collectively, are made when teamwork is practiced, the process of consensus is used, and individuals experience both contributing and being contributed to. All It Takes is Leadership: All of us are constantly ‘influencing,’ through our words, actions, moods, attitudes, and beliefs. Although not all of us will take on traditional leadership roles, we believe understanding this influence empowers us to decide what kind of leader we want to be for others and ourselves. Our Story

All It Takes is a non-profit organization that equips youth with essential emotional intelligence skills to successfully navigate their lives and support their communities. Our work cultivates safer schools and communities through experiential social-emotional learning methodology. We teach young people at critical life stages to practice empathy, compassion, initiative, responsibility, and purpose in order to create sustainable, positive outcomes. All It Takes is an organization founded by transformation trainer, Lori Woodley and actress Shailene Woodley. We see a world with people who have what it takes to be leaders both in their own lives and for others. Leaders who, through purposeful and compassionate action, make positive changes in their schools, communities and, ultimately, our world. We see a world where all people are empowered with the tools, confidence and awareness they need to inspire sustainable forward momentum that matters most to them. Notice.Choose.Act is one basis of our training:

NOTICE: Leaders notice how they feel and opportunities to improve situations or create new ones for themselves and others. CHOOSE: Leaders then make a choice on how they want to feel and the kind of environment they want to be a part of. They step up, take action and make a difference for themselves, others and the planet. All It Takes and Notice Choose Act are registered trademarks, all rights reserved.

A 4.0 doesn't tell you if a kid can make a friend, stand up for themselves, or tell right from wrong when it's actually hard to.

Those are skills too. They just don't show up on a report card.

Connection. Self-advocacy. Character. They need nurturing like anything else worth building, and the earlier that starts, the brighter the future it points toward.

That's social-emotional literacy.

The most important lesson this year won't show up on a report card.

It's whether a kid believes they can connect, ask for help, and bounce back from a bad day.

That's not extra. That's the six SEL Muscles®.

What do you want your students to believe about themselves by June?

You can talk about SEL all day. But it doesn't click until you're in it.

That's the difference between hearing about a skill and experiencing it firsthand.

We have until midnight tonight to hit our $25,000 match.

That's it. One more day.

This isn't just a fundraising goal, it's the difference between a classroom that regulated, focused, and steady and one that isn't.

Between a kid who has the words for what they're feeling and one who's still guessing.

You've shown up for these kids before. We need you one more time, today. Give now and your gift goes twice as far. allittakes.org/donate

At the start of the day, one student wasn't participating.

English wasn't his first language, and he needed extra support just to stay engaged.

By the last activity, he was helping other students respond and get their Dreams across the finish line.

That shift — from disengaged to helping others — is what consistent SEL practice builds over time.

Right now, donations to make more days like this possible are matched dollar for dollar!

A kid who used to react without thinking is learning to notice, choose, and act instead.

That shift doesn’t happen by accident.

It happens because people like you show up for it.

Right now, every gift is matched dollar-for-dollar until July 30.

Help us reach $25,000 and give twice the impact: allittakes.org/donate

What if the hardest part of SEL isn’t knowing the framework, it’s building the muscles to actually use it?

That’s what we dug into at our SEL Muscle Mastery workshop this week at the California MTSS Professional Learning Institute.

If you’re still at the conference, come find us Thursday from 10am to 12pm for the SEL Muscle Mastery Lab. We’ll walk through the six SEL Muscles™ and what it actually takes to build A Trusted Space® in your school.

Hope to see you there.

Matched right now, that's two classrooms reached from one gift.

Every dollar counts double until July 30th.

Some of the best moments in a classroom don't look like much from the outside.

A student raises his hand and says going deep isn't easy. Another one asks the question that's actually been sitting with him all week: what do you do when you apologize and it just doesn't land the way you hoped?

That second question could have gotten a quick answer and moved on. Instead, it turned into something bigger.

The class talked about what it means to take things personally, and why an apology can be true and still not fix everything right away. Then they didn't just talk about it. They practiced it, role-playing the conversation out loud so it wasn't just an idea anymore.

That's the kind of thing that happens when kids have A Trusted Space®, room to ask the real question instead of the easy one, and time to build the SEL Muscles™ that make hard conversations a little less hard.

$50 contributes to a classroom's full week of practice like this.
