Huge shout out to Erica Goldman, Alonim's former Israeli Dance Director!

During her time at Alonim, Erica showed campers how dance can be so much more than movement—it can be a way to connect, celebrate, express our Jewish identity, and build community.

Now Erica is sharing what she learned at Alonim with the wider Jewish community through her essay in Cultivating Jewish Peoplehood at Camp, a new collection from the Foundation for Jewish Camp. It’s a beautiful reminder of what camp can give you and what you can carry with you long after you leave.

As we approach the first Shabbat at camp without campers in over 10 weeks, we are reflecting on the countless memories made by the 928 overnight campers and 333 day campers who walked down Peppertree Lane this summer. Summer 2026 was full of growth, experiencing the joys of living Jewishly, exploring ourselves, contributing to our community, building resilience, and endless Jewish learning. We can't wait to see everyone back at Alonim for Summer 2027!

Shabbat is more than a day of rest — it is a day filled with intention, joy, and presence. This Shabbat, we were able to slow down, connect with friends, and find holiness in our camp community. ✨✨

MSA -- Mischakim Shel Alonim or the Games of Alonim -- brings so much ruach and energy to camp each session. We had a blast today with the shtick-y theme of Avatar the Last Airbender to see which element the Avatar would be born into next -- water, air, earth, or fire! 💙💛💚❤️
