Let’s help Keller Johnson make this his best food drive ever. Silver Cliff Mountain Inn has a donation box set up just inside our entrance. This outstanding young man is all about giving to his community so let’s support his efforts by donating.
🍗 This will be the 6th year Keller has collected donations for the Custer County Senior Center and the Wet Mountain Animal Welfare group. Last year, with your help, Keller was able to donate 1,682 # of food to our senior center! On top of that he was able to give the WMAW group over 338 # of pet food and additional pet supplies. 🐾
🤷🏻♀️ Can we smash those numbers this year???? Let’s try!!!!!! ✅
🍽️ ANY non perishable food items and paper products are welcome but here is what the Senior Center asked for specifically;
- Any type of canned meat
- Oatmeal in individual packets
- Granola bars (soft)
- Peanut butter
- Cereal
- Mayonnaise
- Single serve popcorn
- Canned fruit (peaches, pears, mandarin oranges, fruit cocktail)
- Individual serving raisins
-Soup (chicken noodle, beef noodle, cream of mushroom, beef stew, chili)
- Bulk needs; case water, napkins, paper plates, Kleenex, CountryTime pink lemonade, Lipton tea bags
Please also consider items such as;
* Shampoo and conditioner
* Body wash and shower gel
* Deodorant
* Shaving cream and razors
* Toothbrushes, toothpaste, and floss
* Hand lotion
* Detergent
💬 When buying things like box mac & cheese, keep in mind that not everyone can afford milk and butter, so buy Velveeta instead of Kraft. And avoid things such as Hamburger Helper as many cannot afford the meat needed to make that meal.
💰 Cash donations are also accepted as we use those shopping trips to learn about price comparison shopping, name brand vs generic etc. 🛒
If you’d like to donate to the WMAW group as well, they accept ANY dry food donations (even open bags) as well as ANY canned food. Another critical need is KMR and Esbilac (kitten and puppy milk replacers) and of course toys, food dishes, grooming products etc.
