Attached is an updated chart showing the different stages of fire restrictions. Although we are currently in stage 3 fire restrictions, Sheriff Smith is allowing the use of propane and tools like chainsaws as long as they are used safely with extreme caution and fire suppression tools (such as a fire extinguisher) nearby. It is also recommended to have another person with you due to the extreme fire risk.

Celebrating 250 Years of Independence is exciting and unique!!

We believe our community and our visitors can express wonder and gratitude for our many freedoms without the sparks.

Thank you in advance for helping us spread the word that Custer County is in a Stage 2 Fire Ban. Anyone caught putting our community at risk will be cited and face fines from $250 to $1,000.

Please lift up our Firefighters and First Responders as they battle this blaze and work to protect each of us and our home.

May God continue to Bless America!! 🇱🇷
