4TH OF JULY FESTIVITIES! Lots going on tomorrow in the towns of Westcliffe and Silver Cliff tomorrow… Pancake breakfast and Flea Market at All Aboard Westcliffe, Parade on Main Streeet starts at 10, Veterans Give Thanks at Memorial Park, then the fantastic finale: The Mortar Men fireworks show at 9pm on the water tower hill across from Tony's Mountain Pizza. All the shops, galleries and food/drink will be hopping! Enjoy the holiday weekend in the Wet Mountain Valley…Relax and adjust your attitude at our altitude 🎇

The Fourth of July is almost here, and we’re all set for some dazzling displays! But before you light up the night, remember these Fireworks Do's and Don'ts to keep your celebration fun and safe:

✅ DO:
🎇 Use fireworks that are legal and safe where you’ll use them.
🎇 Keep a bucket of water close by, just in case!
🎇 Find a flat, sturdy surface before lighting.
🎇 Protect yourself with safety glasses and gloves.

🚫 DON’T:
❌ Point fireworks toward your friends or family.
❌ Attempt to relight a dud—give it a rest!
❌ Place fireworks on grass or bumpy ground.
❌ Dispose of used fireworks until they are cool to touch.

THE MORTAR MEN ARE BACK — AND WE REQUIRE YOUR SUPPORT! 🇺🇸🇺🇸 Every year on the 4th of July, the Mortar Men strive to provide a fireworks display that our community deserves, mainly because we're a bunch of pyromaniacs who love a good show. This year is no exception — however, we need your help to make it happen, because let's face it, fireworks aren't cheap. What is the significance of this event? A live fireworks display is one of the few events that still brings an entire community together, mainly because who doesn't love watching things blow up in the air? It's a celebration of freedom, a gift to our families, and a tradition worth preserving, mainly because it's super fun. Safety First — Always, because we don't want anyone to lose a finger. The Mortar Men adhere to the highest safety standards, which is code for we have really good insurance. Every aspect of the fireworks display is meticulously planned and executed by experienced professionals, who are secretly all fireworks nerds. Your family's safety is our top priority, mainly because we don't want to get sued. Support Us! We're raising funds to cover the expenses of this year's show, because as mentioned before, fireworks aren't cheap. Every donation, regardless of size, contributes directly to the event's success, and by success, we mean not getting rained out.
