High Mountain Hay Fever Children's Health Fund

High Mountain Hay Fever Children's Health Fund It is administered by the Wet Mountain Valley Community Foundation.

The High Mountain Hay Fever Children’s Health Fund was established by a gift from the HMHF Bluegrass Festival Association to address and improve children’s health in Custer County, CO. The HMHF Children’s Health Fund was initiated in 2015 with an initial, substantial donation by the High Mountain Hay Fever Festival Association. Through a contractual agreement with the Wet Mountain Valley Community

Foundation, the fund is managed by the WMVCF, and funds are available to local governmental agencies and nonprofit organizations through a yearly grant process. A committee of health aware community members was appointed to administer a grant cycle process for children’s programs that address physical, emotional, social, and educational health needs for children, ages birth to 18 years. Continued support for the Children’s Health Fund is buoyed by yearly donations from the Bluegrass Festival Association as it’s major supporter, Spirit Campaign donations, and private donations. The grant application for this fund is located on this website continuously throughout the year. Grant submissions are accepted online or by mail by February 15th of the current grant cycle year. The Children’s Health Fund grant process is a great source for local funding for children’s health programs, with available guidance through the grant process, grant applications that are short and easy to complete, workshop information and assistance early in the grant cycle, an annual report that can be submitted online or by mail, and a committee who cares about our community and our children’s well-being. A Note of Thanks from Kathy Taylor, Retiring Chair of the High Mountain Hay Fever Children’s Health Fund Committee
In revisiting ten years of serving as Chairperson of the HMHF Children’s Health Fund Committee, I traced years of generous donations from the High Mountain Hay Fever Festival Association, as well as Spirit Campaign and private donations. I felt a sense of appreciation for oversight by the Wet Mountain Community Foundation, and reliable accounting from Sangre Solutions. Thanks go out to all these organizations for their part in what has become a very successful grant funding process for the Wet Mountain Valley children and youth. The Children’s Health Fund Committee members were the best, and performed their duties with efficiency, thoroughness, and passion. But in reviewing all the processes, collaborative efforts, and associations, I somehow felt we hadn’t gone down the road far enough in expressing our gratitude. I would like to go down that road a little further today.
We often address thanking organizations, agencies, Boards, and committees. Our community is, and has always been, very gracious and appreciative. In reference to the Children’s Health Fund Committee, there are an immense number of individual members of our community to recognize.

It has been my pleasure to work with these wonderful community members! Kathy Taylor
