Shorecrest PTSA Needs Host Families for November!

Friday November 6th – Monday, November 9th (Three Nights)

About:
Looking for 20 families to host 11th Grade Girls from Koishigawa Shukutoku High School. Each host family will be placed with two students for the weekend and will receive a stipend of $30/per student per night to help pay for your fun weekend plans!

Please plan to join us for our first PTSA general meeting of the year!

Date: Tuesday, September 8, 2026
Time: 7:00 pm
Location: Shorecrest High School Library (go through the main entrance and up the stairs to the second floor, the library is directly across from the stairwell).

In addition to some quick business items, we will also be hearing from members of the school’s Shorecrest Administration team. Come to say hello and hear about plans and goals for 2026-27!

Everyone is welcome! There is no need to be a member. This is an open community event and we hope to see many new faces!

The PTSA is providing a salad luncheon for the staff on Monday, August 31st (the day before school starts) to give them fuel as they prepare to welcome back our students! We are in need of food donations and help setting up and cleaning up. Please sign up at the link below.

Congratulations to Shorecrest Senior, Elyas Rojas!

Elyas has been given an incredible opportunity to represent the USA in Milan, Italy, this summer! As a senior at Shorecrest High School, he has worked tirelessly to reach this point, playing baseball in the Seattle and Tri-Cities areas and earning a spot on the Exact All American Team, a distinction reserved for the top 2-3% of players nationwide. This chance to compete internationally is a dream come true for him and a proud moment for his family and community.

However, this opportunity comes with significant financial challenges.
Elyas is seeking support to help cover the costs of this trip, which will allow him to train with elite clubs and gain invaluable experience. His family has created a GoFundMe page for financial contributions to help Elyas:

Exchange Success! Shorecrest was thrilled to welcome 40 Japanese students to campus visiting from Sugamo Junior High in Tokyo. Their time here was filled with learning, laughter, and meaningful cultural exchange. A special thank you to all the Shorecrest student volunteers who made our guests feel welcome, teachers who generously volunteered to have some of the Japanese students participate in their classes, and the families who opened their homes and hosted students for the weekend. Their hospitality and support played an essential role in making this exchange possible and was such a positive and memorable experience for everyone involved. It truly takes a village! Thank you all!
