Sharing their culture and art with the rest of the community and audience, Physical Poetry continually delivers exciting routines and dancers to a sold-out crowd. wow. we can’t believe how fast this weekend went by. THANK YOU SO MUCH to everyone who came out to watch the show!! Thank you to all the dancers who performed as well❤️ all the pieces were AMAZING - this show wouldn’t be the same without all of you!!!

Another special shoutout to Rex and Kirsten for taking their time to come back and choreograph an alumni piece for our 30th anniversary 💚💛 it was so fun having both of you back!

HAPPY SHOWDAY! Last but certainly not least we have our very own head coach showcasing her own piece in stage this year and we are HERE FOR IT 😍

You can read her full bio here: Ranita is a dancer and choreographer out of Seattle who started her dance journey at the age of 12. She took her first dance class at Westlake Dance Center from none other than Shorecrest Hip Hop founder himself, Rex Kinney! Ranita currently teaches at Duvall Performing Arts, Eastside Dance, Creative Dance Center, and coaches the Shorecrest dance team. When she isn’t teaching, you can find her training at Empire Dance Seattle and Westlake Dance Center!

We have who is one of our assistant coaches performing a belly dancing piece again this year 💃🏻

Last years piece slayed hard so we know this one is gonna slay too ✨

Read her full bio here: I am a former Shorecrest High School student class of 2018 and a Shorecrest Hip Hop Alumni. I was on the team for 2 years and currently I am an assistant coach for the team. I was born and raised in Egypt so my initial dance style is Raqs Sharqi which is referred to as Belly Dance. Raqs Sharqi in Arabic means ‘Oriental Dance’ which is an evolution of Raqs Baladi ‘Dance of my country’, it is the more traditional form of Raqs Sharqi. Elements such as a wider use of space, arm movements, frames with extended lines, complex footwork, and weight shifts were adopted in order to make it more interesting and visible from a distance.
