🤣Just another completely normal day in the life of Kane…

At some point, Kane apparently decided that sitting beside James simply wasn't close enough.

The couch? Nope.
The floor? Absolutely not.

James' shoulder? Perfect. 😂

Because when Kane loves his person, personal space is merely a suggestion.

Then, after a long, exhausting day of using humans as furniture, Kane was ready for a nap. There was just one problem…

He was NOT giving up his toy.

Sleep was winning, but surrendering the toy was not an option—so Kane came up with the obvious solution:

Just lay directly on top of it. 🤦‍♀️😂

And honestly, these two pictures are Kane in a nutshell.

He's goofy, clingy, stubborn, ridiculously entertaining, and loves his people with his whole heart. ❤️ Life with this boy is never boring—and somehow, he is STILL waiting for someone to call his own.

Kane needs to be the only pet in his home, but considering he plans to occupy your lap, shoulder, couch and probably most of your personal space, we're pretty sure one Kane is plenty. 😂

THEY WERE THROWN AWAY. NOW, THEY'RE GOING HOME. ❤️

At just five weeks old, Nile and Hudson were found in a place no puppy should ever be — inside a dumpster, in a box covered with a trash bag.

Someone had discarded them as if their little lives didn't matter.

But they did matter.

They mattered to the person who found them.
They mattered to everyone who helped them along the way.
They mattered to us.

And eventually, they mattered to the people who would choose them forever. ❤️

Nile and Hudson came to HOMEWARD BOUND as two tiny babies who had already experienced the worst of people. We watched them grow from those little round-bellied puppies into the goofy, handsome boys you see today.

We watched them play. We watched them learn. We watched those little legs get longer and longer. 😂 We watched them grow up while we waited for the right families to see what we had seen all along.

And now, we finally get to say it...

🎉 NILE AND HUDSON HAVE BOTH BEEN ADOPTED! 🎉

Two little boys who once started life in a dumpster...

now have a home of their very own. 🏡❤️

We don't have their official family pictures quite yet, but we couldn't keep this news to ourselves any longer. So today we're celebrating by looking back at just how far these two have come.

From discarded...

to rescued...

to loved...

to HOME. ❤️🐾

For veterans and families struggling to make ends meet, keeping their pets fed and cared for can be one more worry on an already long list. We want to help make that burden a little lighter. ❤️

We're collecting dog & cat food, treats, litter, toys, beds & blankets, leashes & collars, puppy pads, crates, carriers and other pet-care essentials.

THESE PUPPIES JUST CAN’T CATCH A BREAK💔

We were really hoping our next update would simply be, “Everyone is healthy and finally in the clear.”

Unfortunately, we aren't there yet.

After everything this litter has already been through, they are still battling coccidia and hookworms — and now we're treating a skin infection too. 😞

Their little immune systems have been through so much, and every time we get one thing under control, something else pops up.

But we're going to keep doing exactly what we've been doing: treating them, loving them, and giving them everything they need until they're healthy.

The difficult part is that all of those vet visits, medications, tests and treatments keep adding up for our small rescue.

🌹 ROSE UPDATE — AND A HUGE THANK YOU! ❤️‍🩹

First, because of YOU, we’ve raised $600 toward Rose’s care! Every donation and every share means more than we can say. Thank you. ❤️

Rose went back to the vet yesterday for a checkup. Our little fighter is still doing well after everything her body has been through with parvo, but apparently she decided one illness wasn’t enough—she has now developed kennel cough. 🤦‍♀️

The GOOD news: she’s still doing well. 🙌
She’s home, being monitored closely, getting lots of rest and continuing the care she needs. After being hospitalized, requiring a blood transfusion, fluids, medications and everything else that came with fighting parvo, we are incredibly grateful to see her continuing to move in the right direction.

We’ve raised $600, but our medical expenses from this have already reached around $1,000, and Rose’s care is continuing.

If you can help us close that gap—even $5 or $10 makes a difference. If donating isn’t possible, please share Rose’s update. That helps more than you know.

🚨 IMPORTANT CARLY UPDATE: 🚨

We have discovered that Carly comes with adjustable ears. 😂

Mode 1: Sweet little floppy-eared angel. 😇
Mode 2: FULL SATELLITE DISHES. 📡

Same dog. Same adorable face. Absolutely no explanation.

Carly has been waiting far too long for someone to realize what an absolute gem she is. She’s sweet, smart, crate trained, great with other dogs, and has that wonderful balance of being ready to have some fun but also perfectly happy to settle in and relax.

And somehow… she still hasn’t found her family.

If you’re looking for a girl who can make you laugh, be your buddy, and provide excellent household reception with those ears, Carly would like to submit her application. ❤️🐾

Sometimes the dog who has been waiting the longest isn’t waiting because there’s something wrong with him.

Sometimes, his person just hasn’t found him yet. ❤️

This is Kane.

Not posed. Not an adoption-event photo. Not us trying to get the “perfect” picture.

Just Kane, exactly as he is at home—completely convinced that personal space is optional and that if he loves you, he should probably be on top of you. 😂

He’s goofy. He snores. He gets the zoomies. He steals things he absolutely knows he shouldn’t have. And when his favorite person leaves the room, Kane would very much like an explanation.

But this right here is probably his favorite thing of all.

Being close to his person. ❤️

Kane has been waiting a long time for someone to choose him. He does need a special home where he can be the only pet—but for the right person, this ridiculously lovable boy has so much to give.

Somewhere out there is the lap Kane hasn’t met yet.

❤️‍🩹 This is Rose. And PARVO hit her HARD. ❤️‍🩹

What started as every rescue's nightmare became a fight for this little girl's life.

Rose became sick enough that she had to be admitted to the hospital to receive further care and a blood transfusion.

She's back with her foster home now, but she isn't finished fighting.

She's still exhausted.
She's still on medications.
She still needs fluids, rest and a whole lot of care while her little body recovers.

And so far, we've spent nearly $1,000 fighting parvo.

For a small rescue like ours, an unexpected medical expense like this hits incredibly hard—but when Rose and her sisters needed us, saying “we can't afford it” wasn't an option.

So we're starting with one small goal.

❤️‍🩹 Can we raise $250 toward the nearly $1,000 we've already spent?

That's 25 people giving $10.

🚨 WE REALLY NEED OUR COMMUNITY RIGHT NOW. 🚨

It feels like every time HOMEWARD BOUND starts to get its footing, something else knocks us back down.

And this time, it’s PARVO. 💔

We are doing everything we can to get them through this. Parvo treatment can become incredibly expensive, incredibly fast—and for a small rescue like ours, an unexpected medical case can hit hard.

We desperately need the tides to turn.
