Collaboration & Professional Growth! 🤝

Instructional supervisors and directors of special education from across the OVEC region came together for a joint network meeting featuring Kentucky Department of Education updates, presentations from Sun Behavioral Services and Curriculum Associates, and a session with Dr. Alexandra Hughes, OVEC’s Climate and Culture Consultant, on using CliftonStrengths to support leaders and coaches.

Through collaboration and shared learning, OVEC continues to empower educational leaders so students thrive!

Celebrate National School Lunch Week with OVEF!

Did you know OVEC Head Start provides nutritious lunches and snacks every day to more than 800 children? This week, October 12–16th we’re raising funds to help offset the cost of school lunches and support our littlest learners. Here are 3 ways you can help this 👇

1. Donate to OVEF! A $25 donation provides lunch for one Head Start classroom.

2. Shop our Amazon Favorites! Looking for lunchbox essentials for school or work? When you purchase a recommended item through our Amazon links, a percentage of your purchase will be donated to OVEF at no additional cost to you!

3. Join BJ’s Wholesale Club (similar to Costco or Sam's Club). BJ’s is coming to Frankfort, and you can take advantage of special membership pricing while helping support our Head Start kiddos!
**New Club Card:** Just $15 (regularly $60) — BJ’s donates $5 to OVEF!
**New Club+ Card:** Just $50 (regularly $120) — BJ’s donates $15 to OVEF!
(Both memberships also include additional gas savings for the first six months!)

Dr. Bethanie Opell recently provided Youth Mental Health First Aid at no cost to OVEC members and Shelby County residents as part of our ongoing efforts to promote mental health awareness.

This training equips participants with the knowledge and skills to recognize signs of mental health challenges in youth, respond appropriately, and connect individuals with support and resources when they need them most.
