Keystone Paralyzed Veterans of America Paralyzed Veterans of America, Keystone Chapter Keystone PVA is on the ground serving paralyzed vets in Pennsylvania. It is vets serving vets.

Only a very small staff of three supports a corps of paralyzed vets who monitor treatment conditions in five VA medical centers in Pennsylvania, doing what's necessary to make sure the taxpayer's dollars are reaching their fellow vets, paralyzed or not. Keystone PVA does this with only the support of private citizens and companies; the chapter receives almost no government funds.

Today, Keystone Chapter was represented by Peter and Lisa Townsend at the 2026 Annual CDCE Veteran Carnival at the Wilkes-Barre VA Medical Center. Special thanks to The Ice Cream Truck 1961 for providing refreshments for the attendees! The carnival primarily supports the residents of the Community Living Center and was very well attended. The event was a great success!

Know a creative kid in 1st–8th grade who’s ready to rhyme and design? Tell them to enter our contest because now’s their opportunity to shine! With the as our theme and a due date of October 16, 2026 young artists have plenty of time. Help them enter Veterans of America and the Keystone Chapter’s contest for a chance at a prize—and to learn more about and people with disabilities in a way that opens their eyes. Patriots Cove continues to make investments in improving accessibility for its participants. The latest addition is a wheelchair accessible drift boat to use on the Susquehanna river. This mobility technology was made possible by their partnership with Camp Bullwheel and Ability Montana. If you are interested in participating in their programs, additional information can be found on their website: patriotscove.org.

The wheelchair games are just around the corner. (9-14 July 2026) There is a fantastic group from Keystone PVA who are representing the state at this event. Participants will participate in a number of events within their level of expertice and classification levels. Some events during the week long event are Bowling, Biking, Boccia, Air R***e, Air Pistol, Corn Hole, Pool, Disc Golf, Swimming, Shotput, Javelin, Discus, and many more.

KPVA greatly supports these events to encourage members to take on new and exciting skills. In addition, it is a wonderful time to forge friendships of the past and collect a wealth of information from the many vendors which support the events.
