Farmers Market 10-2 tomorrow. It has been a busy few weeks preparing beds and planting our market garden: 60 # of seed potatoes, plus our first Cabbage, Peas, Kale, Chard, Cauliflowers, and lettuce of the season. Hopefully we will finish getting the shallots and leeks in before market tomorrow. The slow spring is delaying the harvest from the western Kenai but there are abundant wild greens to harvest right now. Since the devils club shoots are finishing up we have been enjoying fiddleheads and nettles in our kitchen lately. Nettles will be our “Green of the Week” tomorrow so come by and try my favorite wild green! See you at the market!

Interested in planting a raspberry patch in your garden? We just finished getting our ‘Heritage’ variety in the ground and have some left over bare root plants for sale at the Seward Farmers Market tomorrow. This is the best time to establish raspberries, bare root is the best way to plant, and we have selected a variety particularly suited to northern growers. Come by the SWC booth tomorrow to learn more and pick yours up. $6/each.
