The Seward Arts Council will be grilling up delicious dogs by the Derby Booth on Tuesday, August 11, from 3:30–6:30 PM! Stop by for a fresh-off-the-grill hot dog while you’re strolling the docks, watching the fishing action, or just looking for a tasty bite.

Then come back on Thursday, August 13, when the Seward Community Band takes over the grill! 🎵🌭

Every hot dog helps support the amazing work our local nonprofits do in the community. Here’s who’s serving this week:

🌭 Aug. 8 – Youth 360
🌭 Aug. 9 – Marathon Wrestling
🌭 Aug. 10 – Seward Area Hospice
🌭 Aug. 11 – Seward Arts Council
🌭 Aug. 12 – Rotary
🌭 Aug. 13 – Seward Community Band
🌭 Aug. 14 – Seward Memorial UMC

We’ll see you down by the docks! Come hungry and help support local organizations, one hot dog at a time 🌭

Now that we’ve had a moment to catch our breath, that’s a wrap on our second annual Seward Music Camp! This week of learning and new friends comes to you thanks to a LOT of team work.
Big thank you to Jenn DesErmia for spearheading programming planning and operations. To our instructors and camp managers, parent volunteers and fabulous student participants!

The Seward Arts Council is incredibly fortunate to have such strong working relationships with organizations around town. We were able to utilize a variety spaces for classes, busking and the final performance. BIG thank you to Resurrection Lutheran Church, Teen Center and Seward Senior Center for hosting us 🫶🏻

The Seward Music Camp, along with Seward Artists in Schools and Seward Summer Arts Camps would not be possible without generous support from our sponsors and collaborators. Over the past seven years we have been the recipients of yearly grants from Seward Community Foundation, support from Seward PTA and collaborated with Kenai Peninsula School District and Youth360 Seward to be able to expand arts and music programming for Seward and Moose Pass kids. This is a town of so much potential and we are lucky that we have supportive organizations that want to see great ideas grow just as much as we do.
The growth in arts and music education over the last few years tells us what we already know - sustaining and developing the arts in learning is important to our community.

We look forward to continuing to grow our relationships with community partners, nurture arts professions with a range of residency options and facilitate arts and music education opportunities for our kids.

Thank you for sharing this summer season with us!

🎬 MOVIE NIGHT & BIRD COSTUME CONTEST!🦅
The Seward Arts Council is hosting a special screening of Listers—the independent documentary following two brothers who ditched normal life to live out of a minivan and chase U.S. birdwatching records. It is a brilliant, hilarious mix of stunning wildlife film and gritty comedy that explores what happens when a nature hobby turns into a total obsession.

🗓️ August 20th - Doors at 7:00 pm
📍 K.M. Rae Building
🍾 Festive beverages and concessions will be available for purchase
🔞 Age: 21+ only
🦆 THE COSTUME CONTEST:
Dust off your feathers! We are holding a contest with door prizes for the best-dressed bird. Whether you go full commitment as an elegant red-faced cormorant or keep it low-effort as a city rock dove, come out for a drink and some great laughs.

Huge thanks to our supporters, who have donated some pretty fabulous door prizes for the event:
