💔 With great sadness, we have to announce the cancellation of Chris Funk: The Wonderist Magic Show, originally scheduled for October 13th.
Chris let us know yesterday that, due to health reasons, he needs to cancel his entire Alaska tour. While we absolutely support Chris in putting his health first, we’re very disappointed that we won’t be able to bring this special experience to the Seward community this fall.
If you purchased tickets, hang tight! We are beginning the refund process now. Our ticketing platform can take up to ten days to process refunds, though most folks should see the funds reflected back in their accounts within a couple of days.
We’re so sorry to have to cancel this show, and we truly appreciate your understanding and support. ❤️
We hope you’ll join us for some of our other fall offerings, including:
🎭 Changing Tides Variety Show "Hauntings and Horrors" — October 10th
🎻 Liam Purcell & Cane Mill Road — October 29th at the Alaska SeaLife Center
And as always, stay tuned! Subscribe to our email list and follow along here for updates on upcoming events and all the good things happening with the Seward Arts Council.
Thank you for supporting live music, theater, and the arts in Seward. We’ll see you at the next show!

🍿 WINTER MOVIE NIGHTS ARE BACK! 🍿

We’re kicking off another season of the Seward Arts Council Family Winter Movie Series this Friday, September 25th at the K.M. Rae Building!
Bring the family, grab some popcorn, and settle in for a double feature:
🧸 6:00 PM — Toy Story 5 (PG)
💼 8:00 PM — 9 to 5 (PG)
🎟️ $2 adults | $1 under 18
🚪 Doors open 30 minutes before each movie
📍 K.M. Rae Building — 3rd & Railway Ave.

We’re especially excited to bring this affordable community tradition back for another season. Concession sales will support a local nonprofit, so come hungry and help support the folks who help make Seward a great place to live! This week Seward Pride Alliance will be running concessions. 🌈

In honor of Dolly, we're also incorporating a Dolly Parton look-a-like contest! Prizes provided by SPA. 🌟

Huge thanks to our community partners Providence Seward Medical and Care Center and JAG Alaska Seward Shipyard for helping make the series possible.

Grab your family, bring your friends, and come spend a Friday night at the movies with us!
See you this Friday! 🎥✨

We’re working to make our 20-week winter family movie series happen in Seward! 🎬🍿

The goal is to create a safe, fun space for kids during the long winter months, while giving adults a little entertainment to look forward to too.

We’re still looking to raise $5,000+ to make the series possible, and every bit of support helps!

If you’d like to sponsor the series as a business or an individual, you can do so through the link below!

In order to make our 20 week winter series happen, we need to raise more than $5000! (It's expensive to bring Hollywood to Seward...legally!)

Contribute to our Zeffy campaign by clicking the link below to purchase a sponsorship for your small business or an individual sponsorship for yourself or a friend! 100% of the funds donated go to the Seward Arts Council to support our series (and if you look closely you can decrease your credit card fee to zero at checkout)

Sponsors get a slide in our weekly slideshow!

Our hearts are feeling VERY full. ❤️

A huge thank you to Ukanuzit and their generous customers for choosing to support Seward Artists in Schools through their Change For Change jar. $2,010 for art supplies! 🎨 That kind of generosity makes a real difference in bringing creativity into Seward classrooms, keeping things accessible for kids and parents, and paying local artists for their skills and time 💙

And this is just one beautiful example of the support we’re lucky enough to receive from our community.

To our patrons and members who show up for our concerts, performances, classes, and programs, THANK YOU! To the small businesses who open their doors and lend us their spaces to host events, THANK YOU! To the artists, volunteers, sponsors, donors, and community partners who continually say yes to helping us make things happen, THANK YOU!

Everything we do, we do for our community. And we truly couldn’t do it without you.

Thank you, Seward, for believing in the arts and for being such a generous, creative, and supportive community. We’re so grateful to be part of it. ❤️🎨

🎨 Local Artists: Share Your Art. Mentor the Next Generation. 🎨

Seward Artists in Schools is looking for local artists who are interested in bringing their creativity, knowledge, and passion into Seward classrooms during the 2026–2027 school year!

These paid artist residency opportunities are about more than teaching an art project—they’re about artistic mentorship, connection, and giving Seward youth the opportunity to learn directly from working artists in our community. Whether you’re a painter, musician, fiber artist, dancer, photographer, theater artist, or work in another creative medium, there could be a place for you!

Come learn more about the program, meet local arts educators, and explore how you can become a creative mentor for Seward’s young people. 🌟

📅 Wednesday, September 2
⏰ 5:45–6:45 PM
📍 Meet at the South Wing doors of Seward Elementary School

Can’t make the meetup? We’re still happy to hear from you! Email us at [email protected]🖌️🎶✨
