Happy 4th of July week, Seward !!
Seward Little League Closing Week Events Start Tonight!!!
Tonight, June 30th we will have the first games of our new intraleague post season and first annual Resurrection Bay Classic!
Tonight June 30th, Jared Guthridge’s Kingfishers will face off against Ben Bohart’s Stellar Jays at 5:30PM and Mike Lunardi’s Pirates will face of against the Hartman’s Cubs at 7:00 for shots at tomorrow night’s championship game.
Tomorrow night, July 1st we will have our first intraleague championship game between the winner of tonight’s coach pitch game and Jake Boulden’s Marathon Marauders, and the winner of tonight’s majors game against Darren Withrow’s Padres.
The winning players from these teams will go home with championship rings and their teams & coaches’ names added to the perpetual trophies to carry on until next year’s matchup!
Game times for the semifinal tonight and the championship tomorrow are:
Coach Pitch – 5:30
Majors 7:00
Wednesday, July 2nd we are having our annual coaches vs players game and free hotdogs for all players starting at 5:30PM.
All players ages 10 and up are welcome to put their hat in the ring as we assign team captains and pick teams sandlot style to give the players a chance to face off against their coaches and give the coaches a chance to taste the glory of days past in a 7-inning round of baseball, no uniforms required!
In addition to watching this spectacle, players of all ages are welcome to join us for a free hotdog and chips on Wednesday as we clean out the snack shack!
Thursday, July 3rd, we are having our Awards Ceremony, First Annual Home Run Derby and Baseball Card Giveaway!
Join us at the field starting at 5:30 for our champion crowning, as well as the announcement of this year’s major league MVP, Golden Glove, and Sportsmanship Award recipients, and register your player for a chance to win the motherlode of 30 packs of baseball cards!
Players will be split into two divisions, league age 9-10, and league age 11-13, each player will have a chance to hit 5 pitches from the machine and the player with the most/farthest balls hit will win the 2 boxes of 15 packs of Topps Series One baseball cards, runners up will take home a box of 15 packs!
In addition to the winners of the derby, EVERY REGISTERED PLAYER OF ANY AGES THAT COMES OUT TO WATCH WILL RECEIVE A FREE PACK OF TOPPS SERIES ONE BASEBALL CARDS.
