There are moments in life that change you… and this Deployment was one of them.
The team had the opportunity to serve in West Monroe, Louisiana partnering with Samaritan’s Purse after the devastating ice storm. What the team walked into was more than fallen trees and damaged homes… it was stories. Deep, personal, sacred stories.
We met a widow who lost her husband just six months ago. Her yard was filled with beautiful flowers, and a small bench where she sits to soak in the peace and memories. Even in her grief, there was beauty.
Another homeowner had lost three family members in just six months. The weight of that kind of loss is unimaginable, yet she opened her home and her heart to us.
We met a daughter who had just lost her father a month ago and suddenly found herself with immense responsibilities. Overwhelmed, yet still standing.
A retired pastor who has endured multiple health issues… and yet, he continues to praise the Lord and walk in purpose.
Another pastor, caring for his mother, but still making sure that every one of us knew the importance of having Jesus in our hearts.
And what stood out the most… so many of these homes weren’t just houses. They were lifelong memories. Generations raised, stories lived, love built within those walls.
This trip reminded us that sometimes we show up thinking we are there to help… but we leave realizing we were the ones changed.
In the middle of loss, pain, and hardship… there was faith.
There was strength.
There was hope.
There was Jesus❤️
Grateful for the opportunity to serve, to listen, and to witness God moving in the lives of others in such a powerful way.
