With Father’s Day rapidly approaching, I am reminded of the recent Mother’s Day event held at DWELLINGS (on Seminole Blvd) and the overwhelming support of their vendors and visitors who donated over 2 CASES of WIPES to be distributed to our enrolled families later this month.

As wipes are a vital part of infant diapering and overall good health and hygiene for the family, we are thrilled to be able to provide these wipes along with our diapers. Sadly, even this minor expense is above the means of many we serve.

So, for any of you who participated and made a donation, please accept this sincere note of THANKS! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻. You are appreciated by many.

Such a wonderful level of support was witnessed on March 12 when we continued to host our 5TH ANNUAL LUNCHEON AND FASHION SHOW for BABY BASICS at the Bayou Club. The Bayou Club served a delicious lunch and the fashions from DILLARD’S were beautiful on our gorgeous models!! In addition, we are grateful for the support of our terrific local vendors who bring their wares so all can shop!! Thanks to all (guests, models, vendors, donors and Steve & Louie our favorite emcee and DJ) who continue to support our cause and know “all babies deserve the basics.” I hope you enjoy some of our photos…We had a great day and hope you did too! Stay tuned….. Plans are already underway for our 6th year of hosting this event ….meanwhile we have babies to keep dry each month and because of YOU, we know we can!❤️

The community support continues to be amazing and we certainly appreciate you all. Our Baby Basics luncheon, and fashion show is again SOLD OUT!! We look forward to hosting this event and seeing you all there where this very informative poster will be on display, beautifully displaying how we do what we do. January was a busy and chilly month with an exceptionally COLD but enjoyable Distribution last night as we met not 2, but 3 new families!
These nights are very special for us all and the families are truly most appreciative to receive these diapers.

While here, in the event you haven’t heard….tickets for our 5th ANNUAL LUNCHEON AND FASHION SHOW are available now. Vital info is on the attached flyer. This is our primary fundraiser for the year so grab a friend and come if you can.

Our Silent Auction is a vital and fun part of this day. If you have a business that you would like to promote we would gladly accept your donation of a basket, gift card etc. Just let me know here and we will “cruise” on over to pick it up.

December is always a busy month but this year our typical LAST Wednesday of every month for distribution would conflict with New Year’s Eve or Christmas Eve! Certainly not optimum for our families, so we ordered early and handled that distribution this week on the 17th. Such a great team we have!! We provided 42 cases of diapers, 42 packs of wipes, welcomed 5 new BB families and provided 2 applications to potential new families! NOW, we’re all in the joyful homestretch of celebrating Christmas! And, may you do the same!

At this very special time of year, when Thanksgiving is so near all of us at BABY BASICS wish to let you know how very, very thankful we are for those of you that have given us your unwavering support over the past 6 years. You ALL are among the best of friends, neighbors, businesses and fellow members of Oakhurst UMC and we simply wouldn’t be where we are today if not for your support and genuine interest. Thank you again and we wish you and yours a very HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
