I am delighted with the restoration work being done at the church of the nativity in Bethlehem. It was on my list of hoped for repairs. It is an international treasure of the highest order and now revealing itself to be many times more beautiful than anyone suspected!

Seeing the site and the destruction of the nose portion of the skull seen in this second photo broke my heart.

I was told by a staff person at the garden tomb that it happened last winter.

How can, and why would the Israeli government allow the destruction of a likely site of Jesus crucifixion, allow it to be the back end of a bus station, even if for no other reason than to promote its value as a tourist destination?!!
