When people feel connected, valued, and supported, they are more likely to seek help. When communities come together around a shared commitment to prevention, lives are saved.

September is World Su***de Prevention Month, a time to remember those who have died by su***de, and encourage us to spread awareness about su***de prevention. Su***de prevention touches every part of life – from families and schools to workplaces, faith communities, and health care systems.

Stronger Together: Connect. Support. Prevent.

In partnership with Concrete Farm to School Program, Concrete Resource Coalition and Glacier Peak Institute we hosted a group of local teens for a 10-day, outdoor-focused day camp ☀️.

Concrete Summer Leadership Adventure was a fun exploration of skills and confidence! We hiked, gardened, picked blueberries, conquered a bicycle skills course, planned and prepared meals, played games, created art and fresh flower bouquets. Campers also participated in several outdoor lessons with staff from Glacier Peak Institute.

[Español abajo] Have a picky eater at home that will refuse vegetables and fruits? Try cutting veggies and fruits with cookie cutters! Or better yet, give your child cookie cutters to cut their own food. Star or heart-shaped food will grab kid’s attention, and you can ask if the stars or the regular vegetable taste different to engage them in adventure bites. Other gadgets like crinkle cutters, spiralizers, mortar and pestle, or even a toothpick gives kids new ways to explore food and develop motor skills outside of just eating.
, aka , , or , is a program that provides eligible individuals and families monthly money to spend on groceries. Learn more about Basic Food and get help with applying by visiting: https://unitedgeneral.org/basic-food/ We offer free bilingual application assistance, all over the phone!
