It’s Workplace Lactation Week , and this year’s theme is “Work. Pump. Advance. Empowering the modern parent.” 🤱 At WIC, we support working parents by providing breast pumps, peer support and lactation experts, nutritious food, and personalized food packages to support your breastfeeding goals.

We believe breastfeeding parents should be able to feed their babies or toddlers (or pump/hand express milk!) at work, school, and in public with respect and support. Learn more about your breastfeeding rights:

Did you know? 🤔Water is one of the most important nutrients for your body! 💧

Water makes up about 60% of the body and is needed for every single organ to function properly. Water also helps prevent dehydration and regulates your body temperature, which is so important during the hot summer months! ☀️Staying hydrated is especially important for little ones and those who are breastfeeding!

AANHPI Breastfeeding Week - August 15-21

Celebrate Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Breastfeeding Week! 🎉 This week is all about supporting breastfeeding parents and normalizing breastfeeding in communities. 💖This year’s theme: Better Data, Better Care for AANHPI Families, is shining a light on why data equity matters for AANHPI families and how we can use data to bridge equity gaps in breastfeeding support and health care.

Everyone deserves access to support and information that helps empower them on their breastfeeding journey!

Indigenous Milk Medicine Week – August 8-14
This year’s theme is, “We Keep the Fires Lit: Rising Through Milk Medicine,” which focuses on amplifying that first foods carry memory and medicine forward! The fire in this year’s theme represents the responsibility to tend what sustains life—Indigenous families' knowledge, community building, and cultivating future generations.
is a sacred practice that has healed and strengthened Indigenous families for generations. 🤱🏽 Breastfeeding is more than medicine; it's about family, culture, and tradition.

Every August, the U.S. Breastfeeding Committee hosts to encourage families, communities, and organizations to come together for action and conversations about how we can build a stronger support network for breastfeeding parents! 💖

This year’s theme is RISE, which stands for: Resilience, Interdependence, Self-determination, and Empowerment! 🐦‍🔥This year's theme was created by USBC to capture the heart and strength of the field while also honoring the change and growth that are still needed to further equitable access to breastfeeding support for all families.
