Because We Care Rescue We are a foster based Nonprofit. Our focus being on pregnant or nursing Mama Dogs or litters. We are 501c3 non-profit located in Burlington WA. Thank You!

We focus on Pregnant or nursing moms and puppies however we do take in young adults from time to time. Unless otherwise stated our adoption fee is $575 which helps us cover the spay/neuter, vaccines and microchips

🧡Meet Chupacabra, a 10 day old kitten we have taken in who could use some love and good vibes

We received an urgent plea from a local family asking for help on Tuesday night. His poor leg was extreamly swollen and an angry red. We picking him up on Wednesday and rushed him to the vet to have him evaluated.

The cunclusion is that he has a pretty bad abscess on his hind leg, likely from his young mom trying to move him but we will never truly know. They drained it at the clinic and put him on an antibiotic. They did an xray and the bones that are fully formed look good but they are not ruling out a break just yet.

Saddly, because of the severity of his leg its been advised to not put him(?) Back with his mama for fear of it worsening. So we are bottle/tube feeding every 3 hours, giving antibiotics 2x a day, cleaning his leg 3x a day and keeping him in the incubator only coming out for feedings and short snuggles.

At this age it is still very hard to say what the outcome will be, but he's a fighter so we are hopfull!

Note: Responses to messages, texts/calls, and emails may be delayed or be done at odd hours over the next few weeks since sleep will be harder to catch while bottle feeding this sweet little baby. Please remember we are a small group of humans doing our best to care for the babies we have and when things like this happen, our focus always turns to ensuring the animals are taken care of before responding.

Needs: We are asking for donations if your willing and able to help cover the vet bills that he has already acquired and the future vet bills we know he will have. As of now, we have all the supplies we need to care for him, so helping by shareing our posts, or donating towards vet bills is what we need most at this time.

Mommy Monday:
Mama Nesta and pups!

Well Miss Nesta discovered that she could sweet talk her way into a lap to get all the attention today 🥹 She has come so far in the last short weeks she has been with us. She went from "dragon mom" to best friend and we couldnt be more thrilled. She has been a great mom, loves her food, and even snuggles now. She gives the sweetest kisses and is letting us handle the pups without a fus. Next week will be the true test when they get their first round of vaccines.

Her pups have come a long way as well. As of right now, at least 2 appear they might have her same fur texture which is exciting. They are playful, curious and so full of life. One of the little girls is slowly learning that human hands are not that bad, but she does still hollar when picked up.
We have named them Cassian, Emerie, Gwyn, Amren, Feyre, and Elain.
Yes it is ACOSF theme for all our book girlie and guys lol. We wanted a strong female who is feircly protective of her family, who everyone thinks isn't that great of a person. But once you hear their story and see beyond the hard exterior they built to survive, they are funny, loving, and devoted. The name Nesta fits our mama perfectly. She came in scared, angry, and only wanted to keep her little family safe, but the more we showed up for her with pacients and compassion, the more we seen her soft side. ❤️

Mommy monday update:
Mama Magnolie and her PB&J

Mama mags is still one of the best girls around. She looooves her canned food, giving kisses and has major FOMO lol. Shes learned that squeaky toys are nothing to be afraid of this week so now the pups can have a toy bought special for them. She's learned how to sit in a lap, but honestly is too excited to sit still. She's always got the wiggles lol.

Peanutbutter and Jelly are doing amazing, started eating hard food, playing, discovering toys and chewing on fingers, socks, shirts, all the things lol. They are the cutest little sandwich ever ❤️

Mommy update #2

Please refaine from putting applications in at this time, we would hate for it to get lost in the mix 🫶

Mama Nesta has come so far, she has desided that affection is pretty awesome, so are snuggles and kisses. She's allowing our team to handle her pups but she is still not 100% on board with it so we do short look overs to build the trust that we are not there to harm the babies she fought so hard to protect.

All 6 pups are doing great. They are 4 weeks old now and are sassy wrestling machines. We will announce names next week 🥰

Ooops, we missed Mommy Monday! Don't be fret though, here it is!
Mama Magnolia is absolutly amazing! She is so loving with those she trusts, giving lots of kisses, wiggles and tail wags.
Peanutbutter and Jelly are growing like weeds, how are they 5 weeks old already? They like to wrestle with eachother and their mama, steal mama's food and waddle around! They get their first round of shots next week 🥰
