A Love Box Volunteer didn’t bring anything special to this meet up.

They met a family at the park. It was that simple. They pushed a toddler on the swing, walked the stroller while foster mom rested on a bench, and then sat to provide a listening ear.

Backpacks are packed, classrooms are full, and a new school year is underway 💛

And for children and families experiencing foster care, having a community in their corner can make all the difference.

At Seattle Angels, support isn’t just about showing up for the big moments. It’s about building relationships that remain through new school years, new routines, hard weeks, celebrations, and everything in between.

Our annual picnic is one of those moments where we get to see that community come together. Families, volunteers, and supporters are connecting, celebrating, and making memories.

Because when a child knows there are people who will keep showing up, that’s impact that lasts far beyond one afternoon💛

Here’s to a new school year and to making sure families don’t have to navigate it alone!

Intentional giving starts with listening🤍

It means taking the time to understand what would actually feel meaningful to the person receiving support. Then show up in a way that reflects them.

Sometimes that means meeting a big need. Sometimes, it’s as simple as picking out a football together🏈

We’re still taking it all in💛

This weekend, 139 kids and adults joined us for our annual Seattle Angels Picnic! ☀️

Each year, this special day brings together families and volunteers from across our programs to connect, celebrate summer, and get ready for a new school year—with school supplies, crafts, activities, good food, and plenty of fun along the way.

Days like this are only possible because of the incredible community surrounding Seattle Angels. To our donors, partners, volunteers, and everyone who continues to show up for families experiencing foster care: thank you. You help create spaces where families can connect, relationships can grow, and community can be celebrated🎉

And a special shoutout to Eileen & Callies Place , one of our wonderful nonprofit partners, for coming out to volunteer with us this weekend. We’re so grateful for the ways our organizations continue to support one another and our community.

This National Nonprofit Day, look beyond the gift. Look at who it reached.

Your support becomes resources, relationships, and opportunities that directly impact children, youth, and families experiencing foster care.

It helps a volunteer show up consistently. It gives a family access to support they need to keep their doors open. It gives a young person the tools and relationships to build a future beyond the statistics.
