A note sent yesterday, July 27th, 2026, to Seattle Center/Festál regarding the sad event that happened on the campus.
“Our hearts are heavy after learning about the tragic events at Seattle Center last night.
We cannot imagine how a place that brings our community together with respect, peace, and dignity could become the scene of such senseless violence, where lives were lost, people were injured, and families—including children—were deeply affected.
We know this is not the Seattle Center that all of us have worked so hard to build and nurture over the years.
Please know that you, your entire team, and the whole Seattle Center family are in our thoughts. We stand with you, and we know that together we will move forward—stronger, more united, and more committed than ever to keeping Seattle Center a place where community, culture, and hope can flourish.
