Happy Tail🐾 Nova(formerly Brûlée)

We adopted Nova the Taiwanese mountain dog two years ago, and now we can’t imagine our life without her! When Nova arrived to San Francisco from Taiwan, she adapted and bonded with us quickly. At first, I was prepared to spend numerous hours training her, having owned two dogs before in my life. However, i was surprised to find that Nova was already quite well behaved! She got along with every new person, dog and cat that she met. She was house trained, showed no signs of aggression, and did not pull on the leash while outside. After having her for two years, I can say we did not have to discipline her much at all.. she does not chew things up when unsupervised, and has only stolen food from the table once (even though she is quite food motivated)!! We could not have asked for a better furry companion in our life. She is smart, easy to train, loyal, cute, and has an amazing personality. These days, Nova has lots of dog friends and humans who love her, and has a relaxing home to live in. Fortunately, her sister (also adopted from LHF) lives in the bay area and the two siblings get to reunite once a year to wrestle and destroy toys together. Thank you LHF for the hard work you put in to allow Nova to be part of our lives and for properly training her during her puppy months.

🐕 Olio is 8 months old and currently weighs 42 lbs. He is the definition of a loyal, sweet, and goofy big boy.
Olio is already potty trained. He uses pads indoors, and for pooping, he is 100% outdoors. Recently, he has shown a clear preference for doing all his business outside. He has a great balance of energy, he can be active or calm, making him a perfect fit for either a house with a backyard or an apartment. He also gets along wonderfully with both dogs and cats.
Please keep in mind that Olio is expected to be 52+ lbs when fully grown. If you are currently renting, please ensure your home does not have weight restrictions that would exclude him.

Olio is an international rescues all the way from South Korea. While “international adoption” might sound like a major undertaking, we have years of experience streamlining this process to make it as smooth as possible. We’ll be right by your side to explain every step!

Happy Tail🐾Miko(formerly Selina)fmd

We fell in love with Miko as soon as we saw her photo on the LHF website- we knew she was the dog for us! We were first-time dog owners, so we weren’t sure what to expect with the adoption process, especially an international adoption. However, Anita made everything so easy and smooth, she was super responsive to all of our messages during the entire process and checked in on us frequently after Miko arrived in our home. (Anita even sent us photos of Miko as a puppy when we requested them, which we were absolutely overjoyed to see). She was also extremely transparent about Miko’s behavioral issues and potential health concerns- we could tell that she truly cares about finding the right home for the dogs, not just any home. As expected, Miko was very anxious and frightened when we first got her (her whole world had been turned upside down). We were careful to heed Anita’s advice to be patient and ultra cautious in the beginning, and we were prepared to do the work. But after just a few weeks, Miko blossomed into the adorable, affectionate, and silly love bug that she is today. It brings us the greatest joy to see her running at full speed at the dog park, gobbling up her favorite treats, and sleeping in the most bizarre positions. We are so happy that LHF brought her into our lives, we honestly can’t imagine our home without her now.

Jamie doesn’t have a preference for any particular age group. She can get along well with elderly people, men, women, and children. However, when meeting someone for the first time, it’s best not to approach her with big movements or too much enthusiasm, as she may shy away from overly eager touching. It’s recommended to approach her calmly—slowly sit down or crouch near her first, then gently start by petting her head before moving on to her body. Once she becomes familiar with you, she will happily wag her tail, rub against your legs and body, and shower you with affection every day.

Rose is a very lively, social, and gentle dog. She loves food and is not picky at all, which helps her bond quickly with people. She is friendly with everyone regardless of age or gender and approaches both children and adults with enthusiasm. When she gets very excited or wants something, she may jump high. She has improved a lot with training and does not jump on her foster caregiver, but she may still try with new people, so continued guidance will be helpful.
She is very friendly with other dogs and plays well with them. She has good manners and even lies down and waits if another dog does not want to play. She also plays well on her own and happily shares toys without any guarding behavior.
She rarely barks and does not show destructive behavior.
100% outdoor potty trained Follows a consistent routine (twice daily: morning and evening) She tries to hold it if needed, so maintaining a routine is important.

Happy Tail 🐾Evie (formerly Rita)the.jindo

When Evie (formerly Rita) first arrived from Korea she was shy and easily startled. Understandably so, with a new environment, different language, and unfamiliar humans. Over the weeks she’s blossomed into a confident, joyful pup who now walks proudly through the city, approaches strangers, and initiates play with new doggie friends. She loves going to the park to chase squirrels, watch birds, and take in new scents. I’ve also discovered her superpower, she can hear a hard-boiled egg crack open from anywhere in the house. It’s been a joy watching her grow more comfortable, curious, and full of personality. Adopting Evie was the best decision and I’m so grateful to Life of Hope Foundation and All Life is Precious for bringing this sweet girl into my life.

History made today in Taipei!
01/25/2026 Alex Honnold just completed the ultimate “Mission Impossible.” He conquered the iconic Taipei 101 (1,667 feet) via a breathtaking free solo climb.

No ropes, no safety gear, just 91 minutes of pure human will. Sometimes, witnessing the “impossible” become “possible” is the exact inspiration we need to keep pushing forward in our own missions.

Taipei is my hometown, and seeing this legendary feat take place on such an iconic landmark fills me with immense pride and I couldn’t help but share this breathtaking display of courage.

Happy tail🐾 Marble (formerly Arno)

Choosing to adopt a furry companion from Life of Hope Foundation has been one of the most rewarding decisions of our lives. Their commitment to finding loving homes for these incredible animals is nothing short of inspiring. From the moment I messaged LHF on Instagram, I was greeted with warmth and genuine care. Anita and the LHF team exudes a passion for connecting Taiwan Dogs with their forever families. Their dedication to the well-being of each dog is evident in the meticulous care, attention, and love they provide to every single one. They made the adoption process so easy and I was supported every step of the way – especially as I had to fly to another city to meet our new dog (this was during the pandemic).
Marble (formerly known as Arno) has brought immense joy and love to our family. We adopted him because his demeanor reminded us so much of our first Taiwan Dog (and my soul dog), Levi. After his personality blossomed, Levi and Marble became the best brothers and I am so grateful that LHF and Nellie (Marble’s rescuer) trusted us to be Marble’s forever family. Now, Marble spends his day lazing around in the sun, barking at UPS trucks (and only UPS trucks), and rough-housing with his sister, Molly.
