MAIN STAGE - CROATIAN DANCE & MUSIC ENSEMBLES

CroatiaFest is honored to present some of the finest Croatian dance and music groups on the main stage of the Seattle Center Armory on Sunday, October 4th.
The stage will come alive with beautiful, colorful costumes and talented dancers performing traditional choreographies representing the diverse regions of Croatia. Accompanying the dancers will be skilled tambura and accordion musicians, who will also entertain the audience with beloved Croatian folk songs as well as contemporary music.
Join us for a day filled with the sights and sounds of Croatia and experience the rich traditions, music, and culture that make CroatiaFest so special.

KONOBA - BACK AND BIGGER THAN EVER!

Our Konoba keeps growing and this year is our biggest space yet! We’ve expanded for more room to enjoy the w**e, b**r, and spirits being poured while singing along to the music on the Konoba stage. Be sure to check out the stage schedule listed on www.CroatiaFest.org.
Tokens for drinks will be available for purchase at the door. Must be 21+ to enter.

FAMILIAR FOOD VENDORS AT CROATIAFEST! YOU WON'T GO HUNGRY!
A variety of delicious Croatian foods will be available for purchase both inside and outside the Seattle Center Armory.

Outside the Armory at the Balkan Store Food Court

Balkan Store will again have whole lamb roasted on the spit and grilled ćevapčići (Croatian-style links). Both meats will include bread and condiments.

Fresh caught wild BBQ Salmon by the Parents of the Seattle Jr. Tamburitzans served with steamed kale and potatoes.

Inside the Armory

On the main floor of the Armory, the Balkan Support Team will offer palačinke (Croatian crepes) and baklava. You can also purchase a cup of kava (Turkish coffee) to go along with these sweets.

Baked in Bosnia will serve traditional Croatian sarma (stuffed cabbage rolls). They will also be serving slices of their delicious apple and bee sting cakes and other tasty items such as pita/burek and princes krofne (cream puffs).

LIMONCELLO

Karen Zuvela will share a recipe from her “adopted cousin,” Mara, a VRBO host in Dubrovnik who treats her guests to homemade limoncello made using lemons from her garden. The entire process takes about 10 days, so Karen will get a new batch started and provide samples of the finished product. Come to CroatiaFest on October 4th and make your way upstairs to the 3rd floor of the Seattle Center Armory to the Town & Country Cooking & Demonstration Stage for the limoncello demonstration.

Note: Because limoncello contains alcohol, this demonstration is only open to participants who are over 21. Samples cost $1 (state law prohibits us from giving away free samples).

Božićna Pšenica Christmas Wheat

Many Croatian families grow a small dish of bright green wheat grass during the Christmas season. At CroatiaFest on October 4th at the Seattle Center Armory , you'll have the opportunity to learn about this beautiful tradition firsthand on the 3rd Floor Town & Country Cooking & Demonstration Stage at 2:00 PM! Karen Zuvela will give a live demonstration showing how to grow božićna pšenica (Christmas wheat). Best of all, she will provide free wheat berries so you can take everything you need home and start your own Christmas wheat just in time for the holidays.

Checkerboard Cookie Demo

Chrissie Kristl and Julie Mustach will reveal the secret behind Croatia’s famous checkerboard cookie at the Town & Country Cooking Stage on the 3rd Floor East Loft #3 at the Seattle Center Armory on Sunday, October 4th at 1:00PM.
