Former internees, their families, friends, and those interested in this historic event will make a pilgrimage from Seattle and Portland to the former Minidoka Internment Camp. The Minidoka Pilgrimage provides an opportunity to share memories, ask questions, and learn more about the Minidoka experience. Consider participating in our pilgrimage as a way to bring your family together and reconnect with friends from the past. Participation will be limited.

On September 24, Consul General Todoriki of the Consular Office of Japan in Portland attended an event at the Consul General’s Official Residence of the Consulate-General of Japan in Seattle, where he engaged with Director Hanako Wakatsuki-Chong and other representatives of the Japanese American Museum of Oregon who had come from Portland. Exchanges such as these between the Nikkei communities of both regions are highly meaningful.

See you there!

The Minidoka Pilgrimage Planning Committee (MPPC) would like to express heartfelt gratitude to YOU - our beloved community.

Over the weekend, we deepened our connection as we explored and discovered more about historic Minidoka, reflect and learn from our outstanding speakers, live performances and multigenerational discussion Talk Story groups.
We are grateful for the ability to safely share insights, tears
and hope for healing.

Thank you for being an important part of Minidoka Pilgrimage 2026❤️
