🐾 Meet Quill & Mocha, two of our sanctuary cats! 🐾
Quill and Mocha share more than just a home. There’s a good chance they’re siblings, and if not by blood, they’re certainly family.
Both came into rescue at an age where life could have gone either way. They were old enough that they might remain feral, but young enough that there was hope they would learn to trust people.
With patience and time, they each found their own happy place… somewhere in the middle.
Neither Quill nor Mocha is what most people would call a “people cat,” and that’s perfectly okay. Mocha enjoys pets, but only when she decides it’s time. Quill prefers to admire people from a distance. While they may never be lap cats, they’ve formed strong bonds with each other and with several of our other sanctuary cats. They’re part of a close-knit little family, and watching them together reminds us that love comes in many forms.
Quill has also faced his share of medical challenges. Chronic ear infections eventually led to surgery to remove ear polyps, allowing him to live a much more comfortable life.
Because of their personalities and, in Quill’s case, his medical history, they became part of our sanctuary program. Here, they don’t have to meet anyone’s expectations. They simply get to be themselves… surrounded by feline friends, cared for every day, and loved exactly as they are.
Sometimes rescue isn’t about turning a feral cat into a social butterfly. Sometimes it’s about recognizing who they are, meeting them where they are, and giving them the life they deserve.
For Quill and Mocha, sanctuary isn’t a second choice. It’s home. ❤️🐾
