🐾❤️ Happy National Cat Day! ❤️🐾

Every cat has a story, a personality, and a special way of finding their way into our hearts. Some are silly, some are sassy, some are professional nappers, and others are convinced they run the entire household. 😹

From tiny kittens discovering the world to seasoned cats who have perfected the art of lounging, every one of them has something special to offer.

So many whiskers. So many stories. So many happy endings. 🐱💕

Today is all about celebrating the cats who make us laugh, keep us company, claim our favorite spots, and remind us that life is just a little better with a cat in it.

Give your feline friends an extra treat, a few extra chin scratches, and maybe forgive them for whatever they knocked off the counter last night. 😂🐾

“🖤🐈‍⬛ It’s National Black Cat Day, and we’re celebrating just how far our girl Coraline has come!”

This beautiful little black panther has come such a long way since she first came into rescue! Once a frightened girl trying to figure out the world, Coraline is now learning to trust, discovering the joy of playtime, and making kitten friends of her own. 🐾❤️

Coraline is proof that with patience, love, and understanding, even the most timid little hearts can blossom.

Now she’s looking for a special person to call her own. 🏡 Coraline needs a calm, patient home where she can settle in at her own pace, feel safe, and continue building her confidence. She may need a little extra time to warm up, but she deserves the chance to shine!

💔🐾 MEET JACK, AKA UNO.

Someone spotted this tiny kitten on a back road. When she stopped her vehicle and got out, he didn’t run away. He ran RIGHT TO HER. 🥺

A six-week-old baby, all alone and in terrible condition, ran toward a human for help. We can only imagine what this little boy had already been through.

And then we learned just how much he was fighting.

In just three short days, Uno has undergone surgery to remove one of his eyes. He is battling a severe upper respiratory infection, a severe case of ear mites, and a heavy burden of internal parasites. His little body has been through more than any kitten should ever have to endure, and at one point, we almost lost him.

HE IS ONLY SIX WEEKS OLD. 💔

He should be playing, exploring, and discovering the world. Instead, he’s fighting to survive.

When we were faced with Uno’s situation, we had a choice to make.

The truth is, our rescue funds are running low. We have other animals depending on us, bills to pay, and limited resources. Taking on another serious medical case wasn’t something we could comfortably afford.

But how could we possibly say no?

How do you look at a tiny, helpless baby who needs you and turn your back because the money isn’t there?

YOU DON’T. YOU SAY YES. AND THEN YOU FIGURE OUT HOW TO MAKE IT WORK. ❤️

That’s rescue. Sometimes you take a leap of faith, hold your breath, and hope the people who care will help you get through it. You worry about the bills because you have to, but in that moment, a little life is depending on you.

So, we said YES to Uno. And we’re going to keep fighting for him.

Meet Swayze, a handsome little guy who is the best of both worlds! 😻 At approximately 10 weeks old, this sweet boy has already mastered the art of being irresistible.

Found outside by a Good Samaritan, Swayze is now getting his chance at the happily-ever-after he deserves. ❤️ He’s playful, affectionate, loving, and quite the little chatterbox! He’ll keep you laughing with his kitten antics and melt your heart with his affection.

And that little black, heart-shaped nose? 🖤 Come on! How are you supposed to say no to that face?!

❤️🐾 There are some moments that remind you just how much good there is in the world, and this was one of them. Two amazing people poured their hearts into bringing their community together for a night of fun, all for the love of animals. Through Dancing for the Doggies and Kicking It Up for the Kitties, they raised money and collected supplies to help local rescues, and we were incredibly honored to be one of the rescues chosen to receive that kindness and support.

I think you can tell by the look on my face that I was a little shocked! 🥹 As someone who normally works behind the scenes, being on the receiving end of such generosity was completely unexpected and truly touching.

To everyone who organized, donated, and came out to support this wonderful cause, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your kindness will make a real difference for our rescue and the animals in our care. What an amazing community, and what a beautiful reminder of what we can accomplish when we come together for those who need us most. ❤️🐶🐱

🖤 LOOK AT CORALINE NOW! 🐈‍⬛

The first picture is Coraline when she first came into rescue, scared, hiding, and unsure of the world around her. The second picture is Coraline today, showing just how far this little girl has come. 🥹❤️

Coraline has been learning that people can be kind, that she is safe, and that she can trust. She comes to me, rubs all over my legs, and is building that bond one day at a time. Watching her blossom has been so rewarding.

Now, she’s ready for her next chapter! 🏡

Coraline is looking for a patient, loving person who will give her the time she needs to build that same bond in her forever home. She may need a little time to warm up, but the love and trust that follow are worth it.

She doesn’t need someone to change who she is. She just needs someone willing to let her become the cat she was always meant to be. 🖤

CALLING SUSSEX CAT LOVERS🐱🏠 Our feral cat houses are on their way to HAP Rehoboth Beach! We would like to thank our partners, Faithful Friends Animal Society, for helping us ensure the cats in our community are safe and warm as temperatures drop!

📅Houses will be available for pick-up at HAP Rehoboth Beach on Thursday, October 15 from 11am - 5pm

🏡💕 ALEIGHA’S FOREVER FAMILY IS STILL OUT THERE! 💕

Aleigha’s breeding days are behind her, and now it’s her turn to discover what life can be like when she’s loved simply for being herself. 🤍

This beautiful West Highland White Terrier, better known as a Westie, is approximately 5 years old and weighs around 15 pounds. She has a whole lot of personality packed into that little body!

Aleigha has spent her life as a breeding dog, and now it’s her turn to discover a whole new world. She hasn’t yet experienced what it’s like to have a family of her own, a cozy place to sleep, and people who love her simply for being her. She has so much to learn, and we hope someone will give her the patience, kindness, and time she needs to discover just how wonderful life can be. 🤍

Aleigha may be a little shy when you first meet her, but she warms up quickly. She’s playful, sweet, and continuing to blossom as she experiences new things. She has already attended several adoption events with us and has done remarkably well! 🥹💕 It’s been wonderful watching her take in her surroundings and grow more comfortable with the world around her.

🐾 A LITTLE ABOUT ALEIGHA:

💕 Sweet, playful, and friendly
🐕 Gets along wonderfully with other dogs

Aleigha is learning to walk on a leash and use a doggy door. She will need patience, understanding, and continued help with house training as she adjusts to life in a home. Her new family will need to remember that many everyday things may be completely new to her. With time and kindness, she deserves the opportunity to learn at her own pace. 🏡

❤️ IMPORTANT MEDICAL INFORMATION

Aleigha has a slightly enlarged heart and has been evaluated by a veterinarian. At this time, she is showing no signs of related health issues. Her veterinarian is not concerned and feels she has a good outlook for the future. While her long-term health cannot be guaranteed, there are currently no concerns affecting her quality of life.

Imagine being the person who gives Aleigha her first real taste of family life. The cozy beds, the little routines, and the comfort of finally belonging somewhere. She may have some learning to do, but the bond you build with her could be something truly special. 🤍🐾
