And now, of course, Royal needs a friend… or three. 😂❤️

Enter Topanga, Juniper, and Sonnet. 🐾🐾🐾

These three little girls are only five weeks old, so they are definitely not available for adoption yet. But we knew something important: Royal needed a friend. She needed someone to help her learn how to simply be a kitten.

So we reached out to Feral Feline Society and asked if they could help us find Royal some tiny companions.

And, well… they delivered. ❤️

Topanga, Juniper, and Sonnet have officially joined Royal’s little crew, and we couldn’t be happier to give this special girl some friends to grow up with.

For now, these four are just going to do what kittens do best: play, wrestle, nap, cause a little chaos, and learn what it means to be safe and loved. 🥹🐾

Welcome, little girls. We have a feeling this is going to be a very fun chapter. ❤️

So… we did a thing. ❤️

We took in our first kitten since Amy’s passing. And somehow, it feels like the right little girl to begin this new chapter with.

Meet Royal. 👑🐾

Royal’s story begins in a place you wouldn’t expect. A patient at a mental health facility spotted this tiny girl near a storm drain, terrified and at risk of being hit by a car or falling into the drain. She was afraid for her, so she rescued her from the road and secretly kept her safe in her room.

Eventually, the patient knew she had to return Royal outside, so she released her into the courtyard at the facility, hoping she would be safe.

That night, we had severe storms, and we don’t know exactly where Royal spent it. But the next day, she was spotted again. An employee rescued her and reached out to us, making sure this little girl finally made it somewhere safe. ❤️

Royal has already had quite the adventure for such a tiny girl. She’s one very lucky little girl, and now she’s officially our first foster since Amy’s passing as we begin this new chapter.

👑 Royal is not available for adoption just yet!

This little girl is approximately six weeks old, and right now she has some very important kitten business to take care of. She needs time to grow, play, learn, and enjoy being a baby.

Welcome to rescue, Royal. 👑🐾
Your story is just beginning. ❤️

🐾 LET’S TALK ABOUT TABBY CATS 🐾

Tabbies are often some of the most overlooked cats in shelters and rescues. Maybe because people see them as “plain” or too common.

But take a closer look. ❤️

Tabby isn’t a breed. It’s a coat pattern, and there is so much variety within it. Tabbies can come in shades of brown, gray, silver, orange, cream and even combinations of colors. Their patterns can be stripes, swirls, spots, or a beautiful mix of markings.

And then there’s that little “M” on their forehead. 🐱

Every tabby is different. Different markings. Different coloring. Different personalities.

Some are couch potatoes. Some are complete comedians. Some are affectionate lap cats, while others are independent little souls who love you from three feet away. 😂

But one thing they all have in common is that they deserve the same chance to be noticed and loved as the cats with more unusual coloring or markings.

Please don’t let “common” fool you.

Sometimes the cat you almost walk past because they look ordinary turns out to be the most extraordinary cat you’ve ever known.

So the next time you see a tabby, stop for a second.

Look at those stripes.
Look at those eyes.
Look for that little M.

There’s a whole lot of personality hiding underneath those familiar stripes. 🤎🐾

Black Cat Appreciation Day 🖤🐈‍⬛

Today we’re celebrating Quill & Sebastian and all the beautiful black cats out there! 🖤🐾

Sadly, black cats are often the last to be adopted because of old superstitions and the belief that they bring bad luck. But we know the truth. They bring love, purrs, personality, and plenty of good luck with whiskers. 🥰

So today, look past the color and see the beautiful little soul underneath. Every black cat deserves a chance to be someone’s forever love. 🖤🐈‍⬛✨

🐾 The Cats Who Are Often Forgotten 🐾

Not every cat we rescue will have an adoption story.

Some will never sleep on a couch, curl up in someone’s lap, or have a family waiting to take them home. Some have spent their entire lives outdoors, knowing only the safety of their colony and the people who care enough to look after them.

But that doesn’t mean their lives matter any less.

Our colony cats are an incredibly important part of what we do. With the support of our generous donors, we are able to provide food and ongoing care for the colonies we support, making sure these cats have full bellies and a dependable source of nourishment.

And when we have the resources, we extend that help to other local colony caregivers as well, providing food so they can continue caring for the cats who depend on them.

There may not be an adoption announcement for these cats. There may not be a “happy ending” photo of them leaving for their forever home.

Their happy ending is simply knowing that someone cares.

Someone is filling their bowls.
Someone noticed them.
Someone made sure they weren’t forgotten.

Every donation helps make that possible.

Your support doesn’t just feed cats. It gives them a chance to live their lives with dignity, comfort, and full bellies. ❤️🐾

To everyone who has donated, shared our posts, sent food, or simply supported what we do:

Thank you for helping us care for the cats who have nowhere else to turn.

🐾 Meet Quill & Mocha, two of our sanctuary cats! 🐾

Quill and Mocha share more than just a home. There’s a good chance they’re siblings, and if not by blood, they’re certainly family.

Both came into rescue at an age where life could have gone either way. They were old enough that they might remain feral, but young enough that there was hope they would learn to trust people.

With patience and time, they each found their own happy place… somewhere in the middle.

Neither Quill nor Mocha is what most people would call a “people cat,” and that’s perfectly okay. Mocha enjoys pets, but only when she decides it’s time. Quill prefers to admire people from a distance. While they may never be lap cats, they’ve formed strong bonds with each other and with several of our other sanctuary cats. They’re part of a close-knit little family, and watching them together reminds us that love comes in many forms.

Quill has also faced his share of medical challenges. Chronic ear infections eventually led to surgery to remove ear polyps, allowing him to live a much more comfortable life.

Because of their personalities and, in Quill’s case, his medical history, they became part of our sanctuary program. Here, they don’t have to meet anyone’s expectations. They simply get to be themselves… surrounded by feline friends, cared for every day, and loved exactly as they are.

Sometimes rescue isn’t about turning a feral cat into a social butterfly. Sometimes it’s about recognizing who they are, meeting them where they are, and giving them the life they deserve.

For Quill and Mocha, sanctuary isn’t a second choice. It’s home. ❤️🐾
