• Friday, May 22nd — School closed for Professional Development
• Monday, May 25th — School closed in observance of Memorial Day 🇺🇸

What an incredible Family Day!

What started as a small event to test the waters quickly turned into a fun-filled day for our entire school community. When the SMS PTO first shared this idea with teachers, we hoped families would enjoy it — but we never imagined such an amazing turnout for the very first year.

Thank you to everyone who helped make bookfair and the events yesterday successful: teachers, administration, support staff, volunteers, vendors, and the families who came out to support the event. Your time, energy, and support helped make the day such a success.

We know we weren’t able to capture everything happening throughout the day, so if you have photos you’d like to share, please feel free to post them! We’d also love to hear any ideas for future Family Days as we start thinking ahead to next year. If you’re interested in helping plan events like this in the future, we’d love to have you attend one of our PTO meetings!

And as always, our honorary board member Baby Josh was in attendance. Thank you to everyone who helped make his 3 days at the school great!

Today is the day! Go on an adventure with our Literati bookfair! Come watch quads battle it out in the Barn Cat Bowl! Will the Northside win again? Check out our budding artists with a walk around school grounds while the Gleemerz sing in the background. Don't forget to stop by the Robotics club and check out their STEM Activities! Hungry? We got you covered. Traci's Treats , The Wild Fizz and Scott's Grille are here!

Today, we are celebrating Staff. All of our staff.
From all of our amazing teachers and co-teachers, to the office staff, Deb and her crew, who keep everything running smoothly, Nurse Aimee who cares for our students, Ms. Anita and her staff, who keep everyone fed, Mr. Alan, Ms, Tanya and Mr Cliff and the rest of the grounds crew who keep our building and campus beautiful, our admin crew , Dr. Siza, Mr. Peter and Ms. Kaneisha and every other staff member behind the scenes — thank you.

It truly takes a team to support our students each day, and we are so grateful for the hard work, patience, kindness, and dedication you all show. Your impact reaches far beyond the classroom and does not go unnoticed.

Book fair is here and Family Day is on Saturday! Learners shopped today and tomorrow. Makeups will also be tomorrow, Friday May 14th.

May 16th, is Family Day! . Come out to the Literati Bookfair and see quads compete in Flag football. We will also have an art show put on by Ms. V and her students, STEM Demonstrations by the Robotics club, Body and mind with Ms. Bonnie, Gleemerz serenading us and ending with a car wash fundraiser. Don't miss The Wild Fizz , Traci's Treats and Scott's Grille serving breakfast! Fun starts at 8:30am. Kickoff is at 9

Please note that we will not be able to provide change for cash purchases during the fair. Any cash amount that cannot be returned as change will be rounded up and treated as a donation to support our school and future PTO events.
