The veterans and staff at DVH extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Virgil Wilson VFW Auxiliary 4961. Today, Lori Bailey, Auxiliary President, and Kevin Savage, Hospital Chairman, presented our Activities Director, Brenda Coppock, with a generous donation of $500. Your kindness and support will significantly enhance the happiness of our veteran residents, reminding us all of the power of community. Thank you!

Had the privilege to be here for one of our auxiliary members and his 2 brothers being presented their grandfather’s flag from world war 1 it was such a beautiful moment their grandfather was African American and served in the U.S. military during World War I. Driven by patriotism and the hope of advancing civil rights, his troops and himself faced severe discrimination and were largely relegated to grueling, non-combat labor roles before distinguishing themselves under French command
