There are some important upcoming dates for SUSD parents regarding the proposed plans for school repurposing, which include consolidating schools and boundary changes in the Desert Mountain and Chaparral Learning Communities.

At the September 8 Governing Board meeting, the Board will hear proposals. This meeting is at Coronado High School.

There is a Public Hearing on September 22 at Desert Mountain High School. The public will have the opportunity to speak to the board and share their opinions on the proposals for school repurposing.

At the October 6 or 27 Governing Board meeting, it is possible that the Board will vote to approve a proposal for school repurposing. The October 6 meeting will be at Coronado High School, and the October 27 meeting will be at Mohave District Annex.

All meetings start at 6 pm.

The August SPC General Meeting will cover the current status of school repurposing in SUSD. Superintendent Dr. Scott Menzel, Asst. Superintendent of Educational Services Lea Mitchell, Asst. Superintendent of Secondary Education Dr. Milissa Sackos, and Asst. Superintendent of Elementary Education Dr. Christine Bonow will be in attendance to update parents and answer questions.
