Yesterday, at Heart of the Horse Ranch, children, parents, caregivers, and volunteers gathered to learn a powerful lesson about safety. We stood in a circle, closed our eyes, and pictured our safe spaces. While we were visualizing that peace, a giant horse quietly stepped into the circle… Horses don’t care about your words. They care about your energy. Here is what that moment taught us about protecting kids; Kids feel your vibe. Like horses, children can instantly spot fake safety. They know who to trust. Real protection requires presence. To keep kids safe from predators, we must be fully present and grounded. Exploitation thrives in isolation. April is Child Abuse Prevention Month.
Child abuse and s*x trafficking are tragically intertwined.
Children who have experienced abuse, particularly s*xual abuse, are significantly more vulnerable to becoming victims of s*x trafficking.

The trauma and lack of trust resulting from abuse can make them easier for traffickers to manipulate and exploit. Traffickers often prey on the vulnerabilities of abused children, who may have low self-esteem, lack supportive networks, or have been conditioned to accept harmful situations.

Furthermore, the grooming tactics used by traffickers can mirror the patterns of abuse, making it difficult for victims to recognize the danger they are in. This connection highlights the critical need for early intervention and support for child abuse victims to prevent further exploitation through s*x trafficking. Please pray, educate and act.

Some people don’t just support the mission… they open doors that change everything. 💙

This Joy Sponsorship is deeply personal.

She is a dear friend, but beyond that, she is someone who believed in this work in such a meaningful way that it created opportunities I could have never reached alone. Because of her heart, I was given the chance to step into some of the most underserved communities in the Philippines, into the mountains and islands where indigenous families live without access to basic resources or protection.

Through her own nonprofit, dedicated to bringing literacy and education to children in the Philippines, she has already been changing lives in the most meaningful ways… and I’ve been blessed to witness that heart in action.

In places where there is little education and support, vulnerability to exploitation is real. And yet, because of her yes, prevention education was able to begin there.

That yes didn’t stop there…
It has helped shape what’s ahead; continuing this work in Mexico next month and, prayerfully, Uganda in 2027!
