Yesterday was about so much more than backpacks. 💙

With the start of a new school year tomorrow, we had the privilege of bringing more than 100 backpacks filled with school supplies to children in an underserved community in Nogales, Mexico, children who live without some of the necessities many of us take for granted, including water and electricity.

But we wanted to give them more than things.

We divided the children into three age groups: 4 and under, 5–11, and 12 and up, and spent time with each group sharing age-appropriate stories and messages about safety.

Our youngest children learned that their bodies belong to them and they can say no. The older children talked about internet safety and protecting themselves online.

We also provided safety whistles for the younger children and personal safety alarms for the older ones.

It was a day filled with love, compassion, laughter, tears and hope.

Because prevention is about more than teaching children what to fear. It’s about giving them knowledge, confidence, tools and hope for a strong and bright future.

Tomorrow, they’ll walk into a new school year with a backpack on their shoulders, supplies in their hands, and hopefully a little more confidence in their hearts. 💙

This is what happens when communities come together for children.
This is what prevention looks like.
This is what hope looks like.

WE CANNOT WAIT UNTIL A CHILD BECOMES A VICTIM TO DECIDE WE SHOULD HAVE DONE MORE.
We recently attended the Smart Safe Solutions 4 Kids Conference alongside educators, advocates, cybersecurity professionals, prevention experts, and child-safety leaders.

With 10+ school districts from the Phoenix and Tucson areas represented, along with Arizona State University, one message was loud and clear:

WE MUST PREVENT EXPLOITATION BEFORE IT BEGINS.

One of the most powerful takeaways was learning about a FREE prevention education pilot program available to schools.

This program gives students and adults the tools to recognize grooming, understand online dangers, identify warning signs, establish healthy boundaries, and know what to do when something doesn’t feel right.

So our plea is simple:

WE WANT EVERY SCHOOL TO SAY YES.

If prevention education is being offered at no cost, there should be no hesitation.

We cannot wait for a child to be targeted.
We cannot wait for exploitation to happen.
We cannot wait until there is a victim.

PREVENTION HAS TO HAPPEN BEFORE THE PREDATOR GAINS ACCESS.

This is why organizations like Mothers Against Child Exploitation are so important in the fight against human trafficking and child exploitation. I am honored to personally serve on their board and volunteer alongside others who are committed to this mission.

Through my work with Freedom Warriors, I am equally committed to standing alongside those working to educate our communities, prevent exploitation, and protect our children.

Every educator who knows the signs.
Every parent who starts the conversation.
Every school that chooses prevention.
Every child given the tools to recognize danger.

THAT is how we become part of the solution.

Our children deserve adults who are proactive, informed, courageous, and relentless.

PREVENTION IS PROTECTION.

Let’s get this FREE program into our schools and give our children the tools they need BEFORE a predator gets the opportunity to exploit them.

Human trafficking is a global crisis. It deserves a complete response.

On World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, we celebrate the incredible supporters who stand beside Freedom Warriors. Because of you, we were able to invest in local prevention education this year; helping protect vulnerable individuals before exploitation ever begins.

We believe lasting change requires a holistic approach. That’s why we’ll continue raising awareness, raising funds, and investing in organizations dedicated to rescue, healing, and prevention.

Together, we’re not just responding to trafficking; we’re helping prevent it, restore lives, and build a future where every person can live in freedom.

Ending trafficking takes all three: Rescue. Healing. Prevention.

Yesterday, at Heart of the Horse Ranch, children, parents, caregivers, and volunteers gathered to learn a powerful lesson about safety. We stood in a circle, closed our eyes, and pictured our safe spaces. While we were visualizing that peace, a giant horse quietly stepped into the circle… Horses don’t care about your words. They care about your energy. Here is what that moment taught us about protecting kids; Kids feel your vibe. Like horses, children can instantly spot fake safety. They know who to trust. Real protection requires presence. To keep kids safe from predators, we must be fully present and grounded. Exploitation thrives in isolation. By building authentic, safe spaces, we ensure no child stands alone. Prevention starts with showing up. Thank you to .a.c.e.mom, , and all the volunteers for fighting to keep childhood sacred. 🙏🏽🐴💙
