We have mentioned this before this year and we’ll speak about it again.
The Run 4 Your Life 5k is more than just a race.
Every single person who attended played a role in something bigger than just simply crossing a finish line, getting a SWAG bag or eating some warm chowder. This event exists for a reason that we’re sure hits close to home for a lot of people.
The Schenectady Firefighters Cancer Foundation hosts this event annually in support of firefighters and their families through some of the hardest moments they’ll ever face. And because of YOU, that support continues and continues to grow each year.
To our sponsors, our volunteers, our partners, and every foundation member who helped make this happen, this doesn’t come together without you. It never has and never will.
And to those who came out despite the cold, despite busy schedules, and despite everything else that life throws at you, you all spent a few hours with us in the morning for a cause that matters more than you’ll probably ever begin to realize. Whether you ran, walked, virtually attended, volunteered, donated, or simply came to support, you showed up in support of our members.
We don’t take a single step, dollar, or moment for granted. You showed up and constantly still show up for our members. And it makes a difference each and every year.
Together, we will continue to raise awareness on a growing issue among not only our own members, but firefighters nationwide.
