🔥 What happens when students get the chance to experience metalcasting?

In 2025–2026, FEF’s Metalcasting in the Classroom program reached 3,500+ students at 86 schools across 12 states, introducing students to metalcasting through hands-on activities, classroom experiences, and connections with industry professionals.

More than 650 students participated in career pathway activities, while 60+ industry professionals stepped into classrooms as FEF Ambassadors to share their knowledge and experiences.

And the program is growing:

📈 13 → 86 Partner Schools
🌎 4 → 12 States Reached

The result? More students learning about metalcasting. More educators bringing it into their classrooms. And more connections between students and the industry.

FEF awarded scholarships to more than 250 students studying engineering and related fields at universities across the U.S. and Mexico during the 2025–2026 academic year.

These scholarships help support students as they prepare for careers in the metalcasting industry.

🎓 : Meet FEF alum Kevin Gorman!

A 2025 graduate of UW-Platteville with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Kevin attended FEF’s College Industry Conference and received multiple FEF scholarships during his time as a student. Today, he’s a Production Engineer at Olson Aluminum Castings, where he works across process optimization, defect analysis and prevention, fixture design, and new equipment acquisitions. He also leads a team focused on improving safety and training throughout the foundry and has had the opportunity to lead several customer presentations.

Kevin is excited to continue building his career in metalcasting, and we’re proud to see where his FEF experience has taken him! ⚙️🔥

🎓 : Meet FEF alum Henry Wiggins!

After earning his B.S. in Materials Science and Engineering from The Ohio State University, Henry began his career as a Corporate Metallurgical Engineer at Matalco in Lordstown, Ohio. Today, he’s proud to be working on ways to reduce costs through more efficient grain refiner usage.
