Today, we were once again honored to welcome local members of the Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh organization to the Hoffman Estates Police Department to celebrate Raksha Bandhan. We've been fortunate to share in this meaningful tradition with them for several years, and we're grateful that this connection continues to grow.
Raksha Bandhan is a Hindu tradition that celebrates the bonds of care, respect, gratitude, and mutual support. As part of the holiday celebration, sacred threads were tied around our wrists as a symbol of these bonds and a wish for the wellbeing and protection of one another.
We're grateful for the opportunity to continue this tradition together, learn more about its meaning, and strengthen the bonds between our department and the community we serve. 💙
