NANN is an inclusive, diverse community of neonatal nurses, nurse practitioners, clinical nurse specialists and other neonatal care professionals at all stages of their careers who care for newborn infants born with a variety of health challenges. The National Association of Neonatal Nurses (NANN) is committed to developing and delivering the resources in nursing and connections you need to advanc

e your career and evolve the profession. Today, more than ever before, high-risk neonates have a better chance of thriving because of advances in medicine and the dedicated care they receive from neonatal nurses like you. Your professional association for nursing, the National Association of Neonatal Nurses (NANN), stands behind you, offering support, neonatal nurse education, and nursing professional development—everything you need to thrive personally and professionally. We are an inclusive, diverse community made up of neonatal professionals at all stages of their careers, from nurses considering NICU nursing positions to neonatal APRNs. Our members advance the care of newborn babies born with a variety of health challenges, including prematurity, birth defects, infection, cardiac malformations, and surgical problems—whether they’re at the bedside, teaching, or doing research. For more than 30 years, NANN has supported you and advanced the profession by providing opportunities for members to
- influence care for neonates and their families
- collaborate with leaders and peers in their field
- gain knowledge to improve their daily practice. Neonatal nurses have called NANN “home” since 1984, and in 2007, NANN founded the National Association of Neonatal Nurses - Advanced Practice. NANN-AP is the unified voice of neonatal advanced practice registered nurses and offers benefits specific to neonatal APRNs.

Parents often leave the NICU carrying anxiety, guilt, grief, and exhaustion that can last for years. And in many cases, we’re not set up to support them.

Join us on Monday, June 22, at 3:00 p.m. CT for a conversation on parental mental health in the NICU with psychologist Amanda Nili and parents Claire Ricketts and Tiffany Goodson. Together, they’ll share what this experience looks like and what providers can do differently.

You’ll walk away with practical ways to recognize distress and improve family and infant outcomes.
