💙 June 8 is Brain Tumor Awareness Day 💙
Brain tumors can affect so many aspects of daily life, including speech, language, cognition, memory, swallowing, and communication. While every person's journey is unique, support and rehabilitation can undoubtedly play an important role in helping individuals maintain and regain skills that contribute to independence and quality of life.
At Savannah Speech & Hearing Center, our speech-language pathologists work with adults experiencing communication and cognitive challenges related to brain tumors, stroke, traumatic brain injury, neurological conditions, and other medical diagnoses. Therapy may focus on:
🧠 Speech and language skills
🧠 Cognitive-communication abilities, including memory, attention, and problem-solving
🧠 Swallowing concerns
🧠 Strategies to support everyday communication and independence
We also offer Speak Easy, our support group for survivors of stroke, TBI and other medical conditions creating communication challenges. The group provides a welcoming space to connect with others, practice communication skills, build confidence, and share experiences.
📅 Fridays, 10:00–11:30 AM
📍 In person at Savannah Speech & Hearing Center or via Zoom
On Brain Tumor Awareness Day, we deeply honor all those navigating this journey and reaffirm our commitment to helping individuals find their voice, stay connected, and continue participating in the activities and relationships that matter most.
