We're so excited to welcome Evelyn, our SHECP intern for the summer! We had a great welcome party earlier this week with our partners and friends from Tharros Place, Brightside and GA Legal Services, who also have SHECP interns this summer! The Shepherd Higher Education Consortium on Poverty (SHECP) encourages the study of poverty as a complex social problem, by expanding and improving educational opportunities for college students in a wide range of disciplines and career trajectories. Through its programs, SHECP and its member institutions prepare students for a lifetime of professional and civic efforts to diminish poverty and enhance human capability, while also supporting connections among students, faculty, staff, and alumni engaged in the study of poverty.

We're excited to share that we're expanding our space this summer!! Next week we kick off cleaning, painting and transforming this new space into part of the Loop It Up Dream House!!! We are looking for painting supplies, primer and donations of Home Depot, Lowes or Sherwin Williams gift cards to help us make it happen! 🩷🖌️🙌🏽✨ Message us if you'd like to contribute!! Our Garden City Parks + Rec Campers jump started their summer grow bag gardens this week! Check it out! Peppers and pollinators, all around! We're still in BIG need of 2-liter bottles, which we'll be using to create and add a watering system to each grow bag to keep all of these plant babies hydrated as things heat up in the next few days! Got bottles? Drop them at Loop It Up anytime! ❤️
