Garden journaling has become one of our favorite things! Our students at Windsor Forest Elementary have been doing a beautiful job documenting everything they observe in the garden this fall! Check it out! 🌿✏️

So much to be excited about in the Haven Elementary School Garden! Students are learning all about seeds and how to plant them, as well as how to plant collard green babies with enough space for each plant to grow and thrive! We also learned about the importance of consistent watering and even got to harvest some carrots and a little watermelon! 🍉 🥬🥕🌿

We had an awesome time at the Stacks Bookstore last night where our very own Program Director Christine and Looping Literacy Together Program Coordinator, Erika joined our friend Kasey from Live Oak Public Library on a panel about literacy challenges and ways that the community can get involved in hands in ways to help students learning to read! It was an awesome turnout! Thank you so much to the Stacks for putting this together and for having us! 📚❤️✨
*** If you're interested in volunteering with Looping Literacy Together, make sure to swing by our volunteer meeting on 10/7 at 11am! Can't make it? Send us a note and we can coordinate another time to connect!

Huge thanks go out to our volunteers from Bank of America for helping us with a massive fall garden clean up at Hodge Elementary School! After weeding and cleaning up the garden, they built some new raised beds and cleared away the old ones. One of the biggest challenges we have is wooden raised beds rotting or becoming ant infested! So little by little we're replacing those wooden beds with these much more durable metal beds! Thank you Bank of America for sponsoring our new raised beds at Hodge, as well as some new supplies which will make the garden workshops extra successful and engaging this year! 🙌🏽❤️🌿 We've still got more clean ups and raised bed rebuilt projects! Send us a message if your business or group would like to help out!
