Happy Labor Day Weekend! Our buildings will be closed from Saturday, 9/5 through Monday, 9/7. However, trails remain open dawn to dusk! Trailhead kiosks have maps available for your holiday hike. 🙂

🌠 Spend an evening under the stars at 7:30pm on 9/15! Jim Hahn will guide us along the Milky Way from Sagittarius to Cassiopeia, stopping at star clusters, double stars, and other fascinating sights. Saturn will make an appearance, and we might even track down distant Neptune. Bring your binoculars! Telescopes will be set up for closer views. This event is all outside, but we will have an alternate engaging indoor presentation in case of cloudy skies. For all ages!

FREE GUIDED HIKE: Sturgeon Trailer Tour on Thursday, September 10 at 10am. Come see the streamside rearing facility where our sturgeon team works hard to raise the lake sturgeon that get released at Sturgeon Fest. (Meet at the River Outpost parking lot near the West Entrance)

Riveredge Family Nature Club will be at the 2026 Mammoth Hike Challenge Kickoff Hike at Ridge Run Park on October 3rd at 9am! This collaboration with the West Bend Library, Ice Age Trail Alliance, and Culver’s celebrates the start of the month-long Mammoth Hike Challenge. Meet Monty the Mammoth, listen to a story, enjoy a 1.6 mile hike, and finish off with some tasty frozen custard.

Riveredge Family Nature Club will soon return! Come out for our free welcome back potluck at Riveredge on September 17 at 5pm - We will catch up with each other, catch crayfish, play games, enjoy a potluck dinner together and end the day with s’mores (our treat!).

If the skies are clear, volunteer astronomer Jim Hahn will lead stargazing through binoculars, beginning after sunset.

Family Nature Club is a free offering to our community designed for kids and their families. We facilitate outdoor, environmental-education based experiences for families to enjoy together. All kids ages 0-18 and their families are welcome!
