Roger's Rescue Several years ago I had a mid life crisis and decided I wanted to rescue chickens full time.

Initially the intention was to rescue and rehome, however we have taken on the role of a sanctuary and provide all of our rescues with a forever home.

It’s the worst time of year to ask, but we could really use some help!

We’ve agreed to take in 6-ish roosters from an illegal slaughter situation. The good news is we have everything we need to accommodate them EXCEPT this roof to keep them out of the snow and rain and deter predators.

If anyone can donate even $5, every bit helps!

Welcome home, Johnny!

Johnny was dumped and left to fend for himself until some awesome volunteers snatched him up and then drove him almost 3 hours to us.

Johnny is just a sweet, young boy who loves to cuddle He doesn’t even have spurs yet.

New bird alert 🚨

When it rains roosters it pours. 😩

We took in 9 new boys last week.

Not sure of the back story on the first two groups pictured… but the last photo was a group abandoned at an apartment complex in Rhinebeck. Tenants fed them until the landlord threatened “extermination” so they captured them and reached out for assistance. (There are 3 total but one was nesting in the coop.)

If you can’t handle the responsibility of having animals, then just don’t do it.
