At Catskill Animal Sanctuary, we see cows who form deep relationships, pigs who make their beds and love belly rubs, chickens who seek out affection, and goats who never miss an opportunity to play.

We see joy, curiosity, trust, and love. We see someone, not something.

Billions of farmed animals are never given the chance to live freely, form lasting friendships, or grow old. But here, they get to experience the lives they always deserved.

Today Catskill Animal Sanctuary is celebrating DAF Day! is the national day of giving dedicated to donor-advised funds (DAFs), the fastest-growing form of charitable giving in the United States.

This month, one of our animal caretakers came into work bright and early for the 6 a.m. shift and found that three ducks had been left in crates at the gate overnight. They came with a note that asked us to “give them a good home.” And that we will! (But please don’t do this).

One of the ducks is named Zapper. The other two are still undergoing our intense naming process, but you can tune in right here to find out what we’ll call our newest residents.

These boys are very sweet, but still a little shy around humans. Despite putting out multiple bowls of food for them to each have their own meal, they insist on sharing and finishing one bowl and then moving on to the next together!

Making sure these ducks are ready for Sanctuary life is no small undertaking. They are currently under strict quarantine, where they will remain for at least a month. They will need extensive health checks and a comfy place to live! Can you help us raise the $2,500 we need to make sure these ducks are in tip-top shape?

Football season is almost here, and this year we're bringing a little competition to the Sanctuary!⁠

We are so excited to introduce Sanctuary Bowl XXV, a new peer-to-peer fundraising competition celebrating our 25th anniversary and, most importantly, raising critical funds to support the animals who call Catskill Animal Sanctuary home.⁠

For Sanctuary Bowl, our residents have become team captains, representing teams like The Powerhouse Pigs, The MOOOve Overs, The Cluckaneers, and more. Each team will compete to see who can rally the most supporters and raise the most money for the Sanctuary.⁠
