Amplifying the experience of those impacted by accreta to improve quality of care & patient outcomes. Every mom deserves risk-appropriate obstetric care.

Preventing cases of maternal mortality and severe maternal morbidity attributable to placenta accreta means looking upstream and preventing medically unindicated c-sections. Making this a reality requires increasing awareness of accreta, advocating for moms and babies, and connecting patients & providers with resources to help improve quality of care. We are focusing our efforts in the following areas to make birth safer for all moms: Awareness, Advocacy and Resources.

We are filled with gratitude for every accreta survivor, family member, and friend who joined us for this year’s Step Up for Accreta Virtual Step Challenge and Fundraiser.

Because of your incredible participation, generosity, and heart, we not only raised awareness for placenta accreta spectrum but raised over $7,500!

Every step, every share, and every donation helps the National Accreta Foundation continue amplifying patient voices and improving outcomes for families affected by PAS.

On the last day of AAM, we want to remind you why the words “placenta Accreta Spectrum” needs to be recognized worldwide.
We hope that this month has inspired you to share your story, advocate for other moms and babies, help lower cesarean rates, and be able to share potential risks with your friends, family and colleagues.

As the month comes to a close, don’t forget your story matters and don’t be afraid to share it when you are ready. You are the greatest advocate for awareness because you know what PAS feels like…

Most people know that prior C-sections raise accreta risk — but did you know IVF is a risk factor too?
So is any prior uterine surgery, and placenta previa combined with a previous cesarean or low-lying placenta.

If you've had IVF, uterine surgery, or previa in a past pregnancy, it's worth a direct conversation with your provider about your personal accreta risk.

When you create a fundraiser for Accreta Awareness Month, you’re doing so much more than raising dollars. You’re helping bring greater awareness to placenta accreta spectrum, supporting families impacted by PAS, and giving the National Accreta Foundation the ability to continue providing education, advocacy, connection, and resources to our community.

We know that fundraising takes effort. It means sharing your story, reaching out to friends and family, asking others to believe in this mission, and choosing to stand alongside families affected by accreta. We don’t take that support for granted.
